ESPN's scroll this a.m. has TAMU, Mizzou, FSU, and Clemson likely to join the greatest conference in the land and create the world's first SUPER CONFERENCE.
Discuss.

Remeber the Justice League when Superman and Batman and Wonderwoman and Green Lantern and Flash and Green Arrow and Aquaman and all those guys teamed up?
They stopped kicking ass in my opinion. Started laughing and smiling a lot.

Do you think there was any group sex?
Seriously, do I take from your response that this isn't good?
IMHO, everybody was trying to keep up with the SEC...letting the others join only benefits them, not the SEC. But, I could be wrong. Maybe the enhanced TV revenue will make us even stronger?

I think it's horrible.
I usually don't say these words, but I heard Beano Cook make a salient point on the radio a few minutes ago. He said the only reason why conference expansion and realignment is happening is because of money. But in college sports, when you get more money, you have to spend it. You don't actually get the money. Coaches will demand bigger contracts. Non-revenue sports will get their percentage. Title IX comes into play.
Essentially, other sports benefit while football is damaged.
Unless you like the idea of pageantry, rivalries, and tradition being changed.
Although, I'm sure back when I was a mere child and the SEC expanded to 12 teams, there were similar sentiments.

It's okay to kick some tires but I want a nice upgrade when I choose to make a purchase. No offense to Missouri and Clemson but Oklahoma needs to be ruled out before proceeding beyond the possibility of A&M and FSU IMO. Without Raleigh-Durham, who else can deliver revenue from the east...Miami? And is that even an option? The basketball schools are staying put. I'm a if Okie then Mizzou kind of guy. But that's just my preference. And yes OSU must be in the deal... they are joined at the hip. But short of a giant splash, I'm perfectly happy with the SEC as it is.

The SEC isn't going to 16, they'll bring in aTm in the West and UNC in the East.

They aren't adding anyone till A&M straightens out that tv deal they signed on to. NC State might be a willing candidate but Carolina will not part from Duke because they have gravitas in that league. There would be rioting in the streets. They have a chance to be somebody in football if they can get past this probation and that is a great area to expand into (tremendous growth) but I can't see it happening. Oh by the way Oklahoma is supposedly in some possible basketball trouble but I can't stomach reading any roundball crap right now.
