...and could still play this season.
AUBURN, Alabama -- Auburn linebacker Kris Frost had successful shoulder surgery Tuesday, and word is the five-star freshman signee could bounce back and play this season.
Frost, rated a five-star prospect in his high school season, injured his shoulder last week.
Frost would have at least provided early-season depth to a linebacker corps that will be without Josh Bynes and Craig Stevens, departed seniors who combined for 80 starts over the last four years. The Tigers return starter Daren Bates and occasional starter Eltoro Freeman, plus Jonathan Evans, Jake Holland and Harris Gaston at linebacker.
He had a total of 178 tackles in his final two high school seasons at Butler High School in Matthews, N.C.

IMO, he'll take the medical redshirt.

This is one of the new guys that I am really excited about and I hated to hear he had to have surgery. Personally, I really want him to get out there and play this year but it probably would be much better for him in the long run to take the med rs.
