Also, the SEC will be overseeing Medical Hardships.
Coach belittle was reported to have "stormed out" of the meeting. Also, after this year no more one year tranfers. And MSU was fined over $30K for Cowbells. I'm guessing next year it'll be $50K.

He's going to set a record for number of rules named after him if he's not careful.
-
The MSU fine was for the AU game only. Also, no more counting back in recruiting classes....and no more 7-v-7 Camps on campus.
-
Btw, Russell Wilson could still be Auburn's QB.
-
This, all of it, is fucking stupid.

90% of the new rulings affect SPuat, and I LOVE IT!!!

It does make just a little bit harder for us to get back to regular scholly level but no it doesn't really damage us that much. I could def see how this pisses Coach Hobbit and Nuttface off.

I had heard that the coaches voted 12-0 "no" and the school Presidents voted 12-0 "yes". I would imagine, if true, that all the coaches were a little pissed about it. Instead of 28 and being able to take a chance on a few that may be a stretch to qualify, you have to go with 25 for sure qualifiers. Personally, I don't like it.

It was for the Georgia game as well.

Another rule is you can't bring guys in for spring and count them back to the last class if you were under 25.
So you better make sure you get 25 and all 25 qualify. This needs to go nation-wide or the SEC needs to repeal it...puts SEC schools at a disadvantage.

This means Vanderbilt will become relevant

Our (SEC) biggest nationwide competition is Big 10+ Northwestern and Indiana (which is my vote for their football conference official name), Texas, Oklahoma, and USC. Big 10 already has the 25 limit requirement. The other conferences voluntarily followed the SEC's lead on the last scholly limit requirement and the thinking is that they will probably do it again.
After all, they can't be seen as less strict than the bad boy SEC.

Where did you hear all of this? If Saban stormed out and all of this is true I'm going to laugh. Some of it could hurt us like the 25 rule given our roster attrition but most of it looks directly aimed at Napoleon.

Are they also going to stop the ridiculous counting forward and backward junk so that you can get classes the size of 37 on a technicality?

Heard Fbomb yesterday responding to some caller, saying that Sabin has been aggressive, and worked the gray areas of the rules better than anyone, but wanting to make it clear that he was always within the rules. Pretty much compelling this type of "cutting out the gray areas" move IMO. Fuck 'em. I'm fuck of that toothless fanbase thinking they got the cleanest coach. Someday, that fucker is going to be outed as a full fledged cheatin' mother fucker...matter of time.

Heard today that the Big 10's rule on signing classes is that you may sign as many as you graduate or lose to attrition, plus 3. So, if your Sr. Class is only 17, then you can only bring in 20, or max 25. Think I heard that right, but may not have.

Ahh nm can't believe I skimmed right over that. Apparently you can still count summer enrollees towards next year though.

I'm not following?
Three options for signing: (I'll use this year as an example)
2011 graduate graduates a semester early and enrolls in January of 2011. Before, you had the option of counting him for 2010 if you had the spot. Now he must count for the class of 2011.
2011 graduate graduates HS on time and enrolls in June for summer school. He always had to count towards the 2011 signing class since he signed his LOI that February.
2011 graduate graduates HS on time and enrolls in August for the start of fall. He always had to count towards 2011 as well.
I may be forgetting something obvious, but who/why would anybody try to count somebody enrolling in the summer of 2011 as part of the 2012 signing class. And when was that allowed?
Edit: Are you talking about grey-shirts? Where a guy enrolls in school but doesn't go on scholarship or join the team until the next class? That can still be done, however, those guys are no longer allowed to sign an LOI so they aren't tied to the school.

I like the Big 10+2 way JR. If the SEC adopted that rule...sabbin would pack his shit and leave. If you only have 12 Scholarship SRs and 3 Scholarship JRs move on then you could only sign 18, but only bring in 15...up to the 25 limit.

,
+3 as I understood it, but same deal.
I'd like them to be able to sign enough to fill the 85 limit, with a few exceptions. No filling slots lost to Medical Scholarships, those lost to academic casualty, or disciplinary casualties.

I agree with this. If the NCAA has limited teams to 85, then why in the hell can't they fill those needs and that be it.
