JACKSONVILLE -- Jacksonville State has picked up two former SEC players who will be eligible to play this season for head football coach Jack Crowe -- running back Washaun Ealey from Georgia and linebacker Clarence Jackson from Ole Miss.
Crowe announced Thursday that both had enrolled in classes at JSU, a Football Championship Subdivision team.
Ealey, who led the Bulldogs in rushing the past two seasons, was given his "unconditional release" by Georgia head coach Mark Richt. Ealey was suspended twice by Richt, once in 2010 when he missed the season-opening game after an arrest for driving with a suspended license and leaving the scene of an accident, and early this year for disciplinary reasons. He was reinstated to the team in February.
On the field, the junior-to-be made nine starts and played in 21 games for Georgia. He rushed for 1,528 yards with 14 touchdowns with 811 yards coming last season.
Jackson also had disciplinary problems at Ole Miss. Coach Houston Nutt kicked Jackson off the team last month after his second arrest while in Oxford. He was arrested last fall after allegedly stealing a television and other electronic equipment from a building on campus. He played in four games as a true freshman, but was suspended for the rest of the season after the incident. Then, last month, Jackson was arrested and charged with public drunkenness.
"Both of these players are experienced SEC players," Crowe said in a university release. "We expect both of them to come in and make an immediate impact on our team."

About the time Perriloux got kicked out of EllisHugh.
Sidenote: you really have to be bad to be kicked off the team by Hooten.

Thats what I was thinking. Jackson must have been too much dumb ass for Nutt. JSU has been taking in misfits and kids who can't really make the grades. There have been several kids from Auburn to go there in the past as well.

I think you're right. Also, I think there was a Pitts kid. If memory serves me correctly, the guy initially left Auburn to pursue is Rap career. He ended up at JSU.

Montae Pitts returned to Auburn, finished somewhere in 04-06 timeframe?

You are probably right. For some reason I thought he ended up at JSU too.
