TV assigns Auburn-Mississippi State morning kickoff

AUBURN, Alabama - Set your alarm clocks. Television networks are beginning to line up behind Auburn, and, so far, there are some early games.

At least two of Auburn's first three games will kick off in the morning, or will in the Auburn time zone.

Mississippi State Athletics Director Scott Stricklin tweeted today that the Bulldogs' game at Auburn on Sept. 10 has been set for an 11:21 a.m. on the SEC Network. Stricklin then thanked Auburn, in a tweet, for agreeing to an early start because the Bulldogs have a Thursday night game against LSU the following week.

ABC announced earlier that the Sept. 17 game at Clemson will kick off at 11 a.m., Auburn time.

A few more TV times could be announced later today by the SEC, so check back after 1.

So the defending National Champions will face the darkhorse everyone's predicting to contend for the West, or at least outshine Auburn, in the first SEC matchup of the season, and they're relegating it to the 11:21 timeslot on the SEC Network (formerly known as Lincoln Financial)?

And because the visiting team requested this to the TV Networks because of a Thursday game with LSU the next week?

Aaand, they just assinged the season opener...to 11am.

So the first three games are 11am kickoffs.  :suicide:

Wake up! Auburn's first three games get morning starts for TV, including 11 a.m. season-opener

AUBURN, Alabama - Better finish your breakfast early this football season. Auburn's first three games will kick off in the morning, at least in the Auburn time zone, and it's all  going to start with an 11 a.m. season-opener against Utah State.

The SEC announced start times for Auburn's first two games today, and that goes with what we already knew about Game 3. Here you go...

**Sept. 3 vs. Utah State at home, 11 a.m. on either ESPN or ESPN2
**Sept. 10 vs. Mississippi State at home, 11:21 a.m. on the SEC Network
**Sept. 17 vs. Clemson on the road, 11 a.m. Central time, on ABC

The early start to the season-opening game may be a rude awakening for some, but the decision by ESPN to televise it gives the Tigers national exposure right off the bat. Otherwise, the game would have been destined for a regional broadcast on another network.

TV will snap up the rest of the games later.

As we wrote earlier, Mississippi State Athletics Director Scott Stricklin thanked Auburn, in a tweet, for agreeing to an early start because the Bulldogs have a Thursday night game against LSU the following week.

Yeesh.

Miss State I'm not too worried about.   We'll be ready for that one.

Clemson?  At Clemson in a meaningless game at 11am?

Yeesh.

Supposed to be 103 here today but I ain't goin' out there to find out.  Honestly, I've never seen it hit 103 here.  It does hit the 100 mark a few times every summer but this whole week and into next week all looks like 101...102...99...101.....

And I still went fishing on Memorial Day.  With my 5 year old.  Because I'm insane and a bad father.

We made memories dammit!  "Honey remember when you got heatstroke?  No?"

Trying to get all the national exposure possible before the mid-season shoe drops.

I'm going to start hydrating now in preparation for the opener.  Fuck.

I was going to try and make this one in C town. Not so sure now. It would require a hotel stay now. Not sure if that game is worth that to me.
