Title: Joplin, Missouri
Post by: Townhallsavoy on May 22, 2011, 11:25:47 PM
Joplin won't be playing any ragtime tunes tonight.

Tornado just obliterated the town.  They had to turn the high school football field into a temporary morgue.  The main hospital was hit directly.

Pretty fucked up.

This will rank high in the scariest horror video you've ever seen.  A bunch of people huddled together in a building, so of course some guy had to take a video.  It's really hard to see anything, but from about 1:45-4:00, you can listen to what it sounds like as a tornado obliterates a building.

Stormchasers get a bit of the tornado and view some of the damage.

Death toll is up to 89 in less than 12 hours.

I don't recall anything like what's been going on with tornados this year.  This is some horrible stuff.

I don't know if it's b/c information is readily available, but agree, I have never seen this many damaging tornados like this year.

Tornadoes leave me speechless.  Absolutely mind boggling how powerful and massive these things are.
