Title: Auburn's Championship "the beginning of the end" - LINK
Post by: Homer Samford on March 28, 2011, 11:22:53 AM
Quote
The Tigers’ BCS win over Oregon was seen by many as the beginning of the end. Even before Newton, Nick Fairley and Darvin Adams cashed in their final year of college eligibility for the NFL draft, the Tigers’ losses were heavy. Essentially the entire offensive line and defense would have to be rebuilt. Then, add in losing the best offensive player and one of the best defensive players in the country, and your best receiver, then have to kick five players off the team due to felony arrests and … well, is it possible just to redshirt this season?

Be warned, there's talk of the Pachyderms from West Vance in that article.

Were there any "bama will never win another Championship...Never Ever!!!" articles by well known writers, at the start of last season?  Btw, SPuat ain't gonna it this year either, regardless of how much the State media wants it.

Was it 5 players?

Did Eric Smith get a felony arrest?

Eric Smith got kicked off the team for something else...Domestic Violence, iirc.

Also, "it just means more carries for Trent", is not a good thing for Trent...especially without an established QB or a WR that's a "gamechanger".

I do to, but I don't think you are gonna win the MNC either.  I also don't think we are going to be as bad as everyone thinks we are.

^This.....I like our chances of being real competitive and even surprising a whole lot of people; mainly media and fans of other teams. I think bama will be pretty good, but also the Hogs and LSU. I def can see a battered and bruised SECW champ with 2 losses just from Western D teams.

I think the SECw will separate themselves further from the SECe this upcoming season.

I think so to. I can see the East Div getting back in line, but it will take a couple of years. There are just to many good teams in the West right now.

This really is an extremely uncharacteristic article by Clegg. My guess is that he is simply pandering to the UGA fanbase here in Columbus.
