Post by: jmar on March 24, 2011, 04:44:26 PM
 1 Rice
 2 J. Brown
 3 L. Taylor
 4 Montana
 5 Payton
 6 Unitas
 7 R. White
 8 P. Manning
 9 D. Hutson
10 Butkus

Just thought it was interesting how the blue ribbon panel voted according to one NFL fan with skreets.

I knew who all of those were except one.  Googled him and it turned out to be a Bammer.  I think he is highly overrated even though he apparently invented catching passes and I have never seen him play or seen film of him.

I believe he was also gay.

And I think he may have invented New Coke.

There are rumors that he was responsible for Hurricane Camille.

All subjective anyway. I never saw Jim Brown play. Televised sports were limited  but I did see Butkus when he had two bad knees and most of Unitas' best work was behind him.
Hutson played 11 seasons. Retired in 1945. 2 way player, 8 time 1st team All-Pro.

Yes.  Two way player.  I already established that.

Five of the All Pro selections were awarded years after the fact and most by obscure groups.  One was awarded by a damn laundromat.  One came in 1941 when he was the 20th ranked player at his position in the league.  But he counts it anyway.

I'm pretty sure I've read this before.  Can't put my finger on just where.  I'm pretty sure I've seen t-shirts with some of these assertions though.  Hmmm...

I guess Bammers were arrogant historically challenged pricks even then.
It is written that Bear claimed to be the "other end."
But just how do two boys from Arkansas end up in Tuscaloosa during the depression?
Train you say?
I wonder.

Then those Damn "barner boogers" greased the track...AaaaHAHAHA, it was probably that never yield foundation that greased it.  Bro. Chette was with 'em too and they carried guns with wads of cash in their mouths while holding up gang signs.
