How are you War Eagles doing? Congrats on the BCS Champiosnhip, albeit a little late. :bar:
Here's the deal. I'm (obviously by my name) a Gator fan and own GatorTailgating.com. We do an article on every away game that the Gators have, and this year we play in y'all in Auburn. I've just got about 10 questions for the article that will help me out a ton. The more people that respond, the better. We'also be glad to post a link to TigersX.com thanking y'all for the help too.
Here are the questions:
1. Where are the good and bad areas of town for motels to stay in the night before/after the big game?
If there aren't any in or around Auburn, where do most away fans stay?
2. What are some attractions in or around Auburn that a visitor shouldn't miss? (i.e. nightclubs, bars, theme parks, tourist attractions, etc.)
3. Where should a visiting fan go to eat while in Auburn?
4. Is there an area or a part of Auburn that the visiting fans usually congregate/tailgate/park? If so, any address or directions on how to get there would be a big help. If visiting fans usually spread out all around the stadium, help us by telling us where the best area to tailgate is with the most room.
5. Are there any special rules we should know about tailgating on or off campus, open-container policies we should be forewarned about, or anything of the sort?
6. Any gameday traditions we should not miss while in Auburn?
7. Any website links or maps that would help with parking, planning the trip, planning the tailgate, knowing campus, etc that you could help by sharing?
It's funny though. I actually have been to Jordan-Hare more than any other stadium (besides the Swamp) in the nation. It's just tat it's been so long with us only playing every 8 years or so in Auburn that it probably has changed since I was last there...

I elect AUTailgatingRules to be our official spokeman in this matter.

No one is ignoring you - we are just kind of slow on the weekends in terms of traffic...
I live in Houston now and only make one game a year, maybe, so I am for sure not the best person to respond. But we have a LOT of hard core tailgaters on this board, and I know you will get lots of great answers.
War Eagle and good luck with Coach BMF... Make sure you have a first aid guy following him around on the sidelines with lots of gauze and bandages. He bleeds a lot.
I hope we beat the pants off him and y'all to welcome him back!

First things first...a fisting must occur.

No one is ignoring you...
Pretty broad statement. There might have been some ignoring going on.

No one is ignoring you - we are just kind of slow on the weekends in terms of traffic... Every board has it's own assholes and a few of them might have been ignoring you. But I am confident that next week a few of our non-asshole members will be glad to share some information with you about the awesomeness that is Auburn tailgating since you were thoughtful enough to look us up and offer to reciprocate a link....
Better?

1. Where are the good and bad areas of town for motels to stay in the night before/after the big game? If there aren't any in or around Auburn, where do most away fans stay?
Best hotels are all on college street if you want to be close to the stadium. If you don't want to pay premium, the Days Inn across from campus isn't much to look at, but you can sleep there and catch a shower. Honestly, any of the places in town are fine. Not cheap though. Try Expedia or something.
2. What are some attractions in or around Auburn that a visitor shouldn't miss? (i.e. nightclubs, bars, theme parks, tourist attractions, etc.)

3. Where should a visiting fan go to eat while in Auburn?
There are many places. The Barbeque House on College Street and Niffer's Place on Opelika Road come to mind.
4. Is there an area or a part of Auburn that the visiting fans usually congregate/tailgate/park? If so, any address or directions on how to get there would be a big help. Honestly, you can set up pretty much whereever tailgating is allowed. You'll find Auburn people and Auburn's campus to be quite cordial and a fun environment. It will be hot but coming from The Swamp it's nothing you haven't experienced.
5. Are there any special rules we should know about tailgating on or off campus, open-container policies we should be forewarned about, or anything of the sort?

6. Any gameday traditions we should not miss while in Auburn?
You won't be able to miss the Tiger Walk. Or the eagle flying. Or the atmosphere. It's different here and in a good way.
7. Any website links or maps that would help with parking, planning the trip, planning the tailgate, knowing campus, etc that you could help by sharing?

Much has changed but much remains. Enjoy your trip and have a fun, safe time.

Thanks for the replies, and Im 100% sure we got a GREAT coach in MusCHOMP as we call him here. He did great things at Auburn, even though some of those things were beating my Gators. lol
One question though, how did Toomers Corner not get mentioned? Not just because of Treegate that has recently made the national news (I hope y'all hang that crazy Bammer!), but because there's nothing like that anywhere else in the Country. That is something that can't be missed, even if the opposing fan is sufffering through a loss. I was there in '06 when y'all rolled the corner after beating the #2 ranked Gators and Chris Leak (INCOMPLETE PASS! lol!). What a celebration. Wouldn't have missed it for the world.
My grandad is actually buried in Opelika, so as I said earlier, I go up there every Gator away game. It's just been 5 years or so. Can't wait for this trip. Anyone else want to add in anything like restaurants, other towns to stay in, bars to party in, clubs, etc? I really need as much info as possible to write the article.
Thanks again!

Some things are so iconic they go without saying. I would expect someone who has been here as many times as you say you have to know about that.
I'm not sure what will take place there this coming season. I guess we'll all learn in due time.

Listen to Homer, her knows. I would like to add too that any tailgate you come across in Auburn will not be like any other place. You probably already know, unless you're the badgering Updike, you will be offered the works and be well respected. We are all family and want everyone to have a great time.
Toomers was not mentioned by Homer because it is something that goes w/o saying. We hope you and your Gator comrades will take this in. It is a spriritual moment. Our Oaks may not be there, but by God we will roll what the fuck ever. It will be done.
I'm excited about having the Gators on the schedule. This game is like automatic fireworks. I hope Musky packs his lunch because I guarantee the Chin will.
We are glad that you are here and hope you fellers enjoy your time. Now, would you so please so see Jumbo for your dogs fisting.

Bars: Don't miss Supper Club. Get a shot on the shot bus. But don't go there until well after midnight. Spend your time before that in one of the bars downtown. The popular one is Sky Bar, although it's a cluster-fuck, which is not my cup of tea. But that's the place to go if you're looking for coeds.
Food: For Deli Sandwiches, you've got to get a Momma's Delight and Moma's Nachos from Momma Goldberg's. For a late night slice after a heavy night of drinking, go to Little Italy. For a good gourmet pizza go to Brick Oven. Buffalo Connection is a good spot for wings.
Yeah, as you said Toomer's Corner's the one thing you can't miss, and hopefully you'll have the opportunity to see it be rolled. Meaning A) hopefully the trees have gotten better and the university isn't advising against it, and B) We beat your ass. You'll see the eagle if you make it into the game about 30 minutes before kickoff.
We tailgate a bit of a hike from the stadium, but the most concentrated area that is most similar to the Grove at Ole Miss would be the amphitheater.

Momma's Delight
You're better than that, Spanish.
Smooches,
Momma's Love

Only the real insiders know to order a Momma's Love and. Turkey Delight and stack them on top of eachother for a double decker.

Kinky.

True. Toomers goes without saying. I thought the eagle would too though? ;)
Without a doubt, one of the greatest sights in a stadium. The Cocks think it's amazing when they play Ric Flairs music? Nothing...NOTHING compared to the Eagle. Great way to fire up the stadium.
Thanks for the input guys! It all certainly helps. Feel free to check our site and talk some smack in September October. We can;t wait!

I think USCe should just have a cock fight out on the 50yd line to fire up the fans.

Then have Garcia do some hookers and blow pre-game so they can have an excuse as to why they lose. It's fail proof.

Thats because they're hot pursuit of a bammer look-a-like institute. They learn from the best.
You know, I have to admit Gator, the games b/w us and you guys are always fun to watch. I don't expect that to change.

I am just excited about the game because for the first time in FOREVER I don't despise the Florida coach with every fiber of my being. I actually like Coach BMF.
The Chin is gonna school him, but I still like the little psychopath...
