For that story, here is (in part) an e-mail I got from Christy Reaves, who lives near Wadley.

“During the Christmas break, my daughter, Victoria, was admitted to the children’s unit at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika.

“Unfortunately, she was there her whole break ... On Christmas Eve she had a very special visitor. Auburn Coach Gene Chizik, along with his wife and children, visited their unit on Christmas Eve.

“He and his family walked into my daughter’s room, who happens to be an Alabama fan, who was snuggled up to a bear wearing a Crimson Tide sweater ... He told her that he loved Alabama fans, too!!

“Can you believe he gave her an elephant ... SHE LOVED IT!!

“She took the sweater OFF the bear, put it on the ELEPHANT, and named the thing Big Al.

“He also gave her a Christmas card that her father Forrest and I will cherish as we are Auburn fans. The visit was so very sweet and considerate.”

I don’t think there’s any need for me to add to that story ... except to say that Mr. Gene Chizik really is a class act.

See?  There's proof positive that Chizik and his staff offer bribes to sway Bama commits.  Where's Bryant Gumble's number?
