So correct me if i'm wrong but is a 8 or 9 win season unreasonable? thoughts>
-
I'll only say this on the fly after a quick glance not taking anything into account or knowing what we have or what might show up as a pure homer.
W over Utah St. eh
W at Clemson- phuk 'em
W over FL Atl. but a trick game
L at So Car.
L at Arky
Toss-up at home with UF- still scrambling?
L at LSU Corndog's revenge
W over Ole Miss
W over Samford
Toss-up at UGA
open
L Bama
That's six wins, allowing for two more with the toss-ups, six getting us to a bowl for another possible win...uh yeah it could happen.but I think 7 seven regular season wins would be my sight unseen opening prediction.
-
I'll wait till after spring game to make a prediction.
-
I would be surprised if y'all lost more than three games. UGA will suck and Arky will not give anyone as much trouble as they did this year. So. Car is a tough one to read. LSU and Alabama will be good games but three is the most.

I don't know. Arkansas' 2nd string QB looked like the second coming of Joe Montagna against us.

(8-3/9-2) going into the Iron Bowl.

If we could start as highly ranked as Alabama, we could be 8-3 or 9-2 and have a chance to repeat...but we aren't Alabama, and nobody dominates like the Tide.

SPuat's fall this year will hurt more than this past season's fall. I wish they'd go ahead and move Oklahoma outta the way and put SPuat #1....It would make it that much more enjoyable to watch their fanbase come apart when they lose their first game.

Actually, even though Prowler is an extremist, I would agree. Auburn is set up for at least a 9 win season. For all of ye whom don't understand, well I say fuck-off, only time will tell.
-
McElroy is no comparison to Cam, but he's been their trigger man for 2 seasons and he leaves the job to a guy with little playing time, and no meaningful snaps and over all bammer is losing at least as much talent as we are, and they're coming off a 10-3 season yet predicting a NC. Auburn, meanwhile, will be lucky to win 7. Go figure.

I'm not an extremist, I'm more of a realist. Two years ago, Coach Chizik's first year I said (7-5/8-4) pre-season. This past year I said (9-3/10-2) pre-season, after the Clemson game I said Undefeated going into the Iron Bowl. I could see what this team could do when they weren't screwing themselves over with turnovers and I knew that this Coaching Staff would get that shit straightened out.

The SPuat Defense is the only difference, they'll have just about everyone coming back.
Losing
QB - Auburn and SPuat
RB - SPuat
Star WR - SPuat
TE - SPuat
LT - Auburn and SPuat (Moseley or Greene will move over to LT)
LG - Auburn
C - Auburn
RG - Auburn
DE - Auburn (backups are experienced)
DT - Auburn and SPuat
DT - Auburn (backups are experienced)
OLB - Auburn (backups are experienced)
MLB - Auburn
CB - Auburn (backups are experienced)
S - Auburn and SPuat
I'm not counting Aaron Savage as a missing player, because his backup is more than just experienced.

I don't think predicting seven wins this early is conceeding a phuking thing especially with the loses on both sides of the ball, mainly in the trenches.
S.C. and Arky are back to back road games before the halfway mark immediately catching Muschamp then off for a Louisiana excursion. Bama is last but not least. Forget UF, I already counted them in the win column.
But those 4 games together are the daunting task (emotionally) for any team even if Florida is a bump in the road. Can Grimes get the fat raise to stay and gel a bunch of rookies? Not to forget that for all of the "unproven", even less experience exists. That's why I said late in this year that we will find out more about Gene Chizik from the coming season...and so far it's a perfect match.
And I agreed with Eneq that 8 or 9 is possible...just add one win or more from those below.
Columbia,SC. ret.8 off/6 def
Fayetteville,AR. ret.6 off/7 def
Baton Rouge,LA. ret.8 off/7 def. and
Alabama ret.6 off/10 def.6/10 @ AUBURN
Furthermore: It would not surprise me to see Mettenberger give LSU what it lacks. Jefferson will either play back-up, share duties or go the way of our own Kodi Burns. I'm not convinced that McCarron can outright beat out Simms at Bama.
MSU-Relf is mosly a run guy that can throw enough on a deep team
SC-Garcia is the SEC veteran on the most polished offense
UGA-Murray had a sub-par bowl game but can run and throw when Nick isn't gnawing on him
Arky-Wilson/Mitchell at least WE think it's Wilson but there must be two or three others better
Tennessee-Bray/Simms Bray looks like the guy that can move the Vol offense that now lacks WRs
FL-Brantley/Reed Who the hell knows? Brantley is staying so I guess it's a pro-style conv. for the Gators
not to forget:
Ole Miss returns 9 on off/3 def no Masoli
KY returns 6off/10def Hartline,Locke and Matthews gone
Vandy returns 10 on off/8 def Larry Smith is back

I bet a Bammer last night $100 that Auburn would win 7 games. He was saying we would win 4 next year. I let him know we both were starting over at Qb, he let me know that A.J. was miles better than Greg....championship.

Yeah, I love those bammer facts. If AJ is that much better, why wasn't he the starter for the tahd?

The cousin grinders have become real pros at this over the last decade.

Ever think to ask a that bammer why their genius coach is letting a guy that good ride the pine while McElroy is playing? Don't sound very genius to me.

They don't know shit.

Realistic expectations? Well, with losing Cam, 4 OL, a RB, and 2 WR along with losing our best DT our best DE and our brains on D (Bynes) along with losing Stevens and no studs coming in at LB, or at least they aren't studs in my mind and losing our two best in the secondary........7-5 with a trip to Memphis or Nashville would be what I expect. Will be pleased with 8-4 and a trip Atl would be about what I expect. Would be a huge year for us if we could go 9-3 and maybe take a trip to Dallas or something.

Florida and the media said the same thing about Brantley last August. I said publicly here that the assumption that Brantley was actually a better QB than Tebow was oversimplified....and it was. They were wrong. Bama is saying the same thing about AJ. And as Kaos would say, thats very "Pollyanna-ish".

Arlington (nice stadium) might be an option but the Bamers used to bitch about the weather in Dallas.
Beats Shreveport. Cotton Bowl proponents still feel snubbed that Glendale was chosen as a BCS site.

I don't think it's fair to evaluate Auburn yet, so I'll save my game-by-game predictions until spring drills are over. I will say, Auburn has a very, very tough stretch between week 2 and week 8. How that young offensive line is able to play on the road is going to make or break Auburn in 2011.

Oh here we go. Another Bammer fan talking shit like they typically do this....
Oh wait....just read that again. Yeah...I guess I agree on all of that.
But don't tell anyone.

October is going to be murder for sure. I think we go to USCe, Arkansas, and LSU and we have Ole Miss and UF at home.
