Title: North Alabama Folks (and others I guess)
Post by: Townhallsavoy on January 07, 2011, 01:28:11 PM
Have you checked the weather?

They're calling for snow with icy conditions on Sunday and Monday.

Our assistant principal that is in charge of school safety spoke with a guy from Alabama Power that said they are expecting widespread power outages for Monday if the weather reports hold true.

How much are generators?

Fuck a generator... If I don't have power, Monday, January 10th, at 12 pm, I will be driving south.

We just had a meeting with our EMA director.  He said his information is to be prepared for up to 12 inches of snow.

I think Token is just misinformed. They were talking bout toot snow not weather snow. All the bammers in North Alabama are preparing for the worst by numbing agents. The forecast is that Auburn will win the BCSNC game.

Bullshit

A flurry to a bammer would be 12 inches.  Remember how they count to 13.  :bamahomer:

I think snow only makes it down this way every 20 years.

Last year in February when snow hit Dothan and turned it white as my pale, wintery looking ass, I was on a plane to Jamaica.  Happy to be heading to the tropics but a little bummed about missing the only snowfall to hit Dothan in the last 12 centuries.  Silver lining was when we flew back in to B'Ham, they were being dusted by about an inch of snow.  So my little boy got to at least experience it.

Yeah, when I lived in N Bama, we got snow once in a while. I remember this snow you were referring to because folks here were off their rockers about it.

Not that I believe there is a chance in hell that it will happen, the weather channel is also saying possibly up to a foot in the higher elevations north Alabama and north Georgia.  EMA is only telling us what he is being told.

How long have you lived in UUUfawla?

And for the record?  I'm hoping for so much ice and snow that it knocks off power, cable, radio networks and cell phone coverage.  When Auburn wins, I'm hoping the assholes in my area will have no knowledge of the game at all.

Nothing personal.

Since I'm out in Hurricane Valley east of Huntsvegas we are guaranteed to get 3 feet of snow and lose power for about a week and a half.  Screw it, I'm driving to Birmingham tonight to stay at the Bammer father-in-laws.  If he gives me any lip, somebody come and bail me out on Tuesday please.  Unless we lose, then just leave me there.

If it ruins just one person's National Championship experience, it will be well worth it.

I can do that. Beer, lake and maybe I can get some good grillin deer from Meyers Deer Processing.

Everyone on the slew (sp?) that we're in is from Dothan.  Next door neighbors are always grilling a variety of deer sausage.  Front porch drinking beer and sampling teh doe meat is the titz.

Ummm...yeah, the Fox Weather person stated that Sunday Night between 9p-3a on Monday that it could be a Thunder Lightning Snowstorm.  Remember the last time that happened...18 years ago?  When he said Thunder Snowstorm, I said holy shit.  I know SPuat won the '92 NC, but wasn't it played on Jan 1st, 1993?

Also, I've heard 3 flights from Birmingham to Phoenix have been canceled for the AM.  With all the shit I've talked about the power going off, I hate it for people who had tickets and were going to fly out in the morning.  That sucks.

I understand....thats why I never moved back home after school. Love being within 15 mins of campus all the time. Wish we couldve gotten up there last night but the roads around here were icey by 9-10 pm. Wouldnt have been pretty coming back.
