So, does he coach the MNCG?

So, does he coach the MNCG?
I can't imagine he doesn't.
Will it be a distraction? I think so.
When I first heard this rumor, it was the first "Malzahn to..." rumor that I thought he'd bite on. My gut is right again.
This makes 1/3rd of the coaches in the SEC a former Auburn coordinator, right? Chizik, Petrino, Muschamp, and now Gus. Am I forgetting anyone?
-
Now it's being reported, that Gus to Vandy's not done deal.
-
Still might happen, but this is in the "not so fast, my friend" catagory for now.

Lots of congrats on a facebook page of theirs and no denials or wait a minute so far. It has not been nipped in the bud, yet.
Snow in Nashville has cancelled some flights, too.
Should be settled tomorrow one way or the other.

Philip Marshall and just about everyone at AU and Vandy have denied deal is done tonight. He has offer though and is mulling it over. Should know by morning.

The paper that broke the story "Malzahn accepts Vandy job" is the Washington Post. A home paper of the Maryland Terrapins. Maryland's OC is 2nd in line for this job. Not saying it won't happen, but it appears that the Maryland folks really really want this to happen so that their OC will stay put.

Dude on WarBlogle says Auburn has offered Gus 1.3 mill, greater than that of Vandy.

Gus ain't just a money whore. He has loved his time here and he has done yall a good job while he was here. He's done a good job every where he has been.
He wants to be a head coach on this level. Not many folks get a shot at an SEC team for their first gig. Not gonna be surprised a bit if he takes the job. He may could do better and he could stand pat and be happy. He is in a good position whatever he decides to do. Not bad for an Arkansas guy 5 years out of HIGH SCHOOL.

I'm hearing that Vandy has a lot of money sitting around and they think they might like to get into this SEC football bidness. They've made some good hires for basketball and baseball lately.

RWS is right about Vandy though. Their endowment is bigger than everyone in the SEC West combined. Last time I checked anyway.

I believe it's somewhere around $3 billion. AU and UA is about $1.5 billion combined.

I thought Texas, Florida, Vandy and Notre Dame all had a HUGE endowments....and they all do. Anywhere in the 2-8 billion range is no joke. But then you look at Harvard which has been in the 40-50 billion range, and it puts it in perspective.

I dated a girl with Huge Endowments!

Or their OC leaked that he was told he didn't get the job. I think we'll find out tomorrow.

Thayer Evans is reporting it. Gus to Vandy

That means Coach Malzahn will be an Auburn Tiger, atleast, for one more year.
-
Gus' offense wil not work at Vandy.
($1 to Paw Paw.)

Guess who Thayer also works for? See first post in thread.

NOBODY wins at Vanderbilt. Nobody!!! CGM may come in there and have a nice season or two and just like Johnson, people will say he's a great coach and has Vandy headed in the right direction. But eventually, they'll sink back down and swim with the dregs of college football. I'd have to say career suicide at age 45.
