Eagle to fly at BCS National Championship game
Written by thewareaglereaderFootball, SportsDec 9, 2010
He'll work.
If Auburn fans were looking for a good omen for their matchup with Oregon, this might be it: an eagle will fly before the game at the BCS Championship game on January 10.
It won’t be Nova, it won’t be Spirit… but an eagle nonetheless.
According to today’s Tennessean, Challenger, the first eagle in history to a make a stadium free flight (and the first to share a forest with Patriotic Dolly Parton) outfit, will fly at the Fiesta Bowl on January 1 before returning for repeat performance the BCS National Championship game.
(We’re assuming whoever planned the event wasn’t expecting a school that does the exact same thing before each home game to be playing.)
The bald eagle has made appearances on The Today Show, Good Morning America, The Late Show with David Letterman, Dateline NBC, Larry King Live, Jack Hanna’s Animal Adventures and Live with Regis and Kelly.
He’s also getting some practice in at tonight’s Tennessee Titan’s game.
No word on whether Oregon will demand equal time and drop Roboduck from a plane.

I spit my tea out reading the last line....

Good Omen, Bad Omen it doesn't matter with Cam at QB. Like I said before, when a lot of fans where crying about being #1 and how Auburn was going to lose becuse of their superstitions, Cam Newton is the difference maker.

I like it. Eagles can never be bad for us.
-
I like the idea but I don't understand why our own eagle can take care of this for us.

We don't do this at away games or bowl games.
It just so happens they were training this eagle to do this, even if it wasn't Auburn playing in the NC. Pure coincidence.

It will be a Peaceful Easy Feeling indeed.

Well I figured that much. I guess I am just partial to our own eagle lineage. I still like the idea though because you know what the AU fans in attendance will be doing.

Because everyone would pass out trying to hold that Warrrrrrrrrrrr.... while the Eagle flew back to the Jordan Hare 50 yd line looking for his meat product.

Damn good point!

Wouldn't it be awesome if the eagle nailed the Duck in the top of the fake head?
Bwahahahaha...

Seeing the eagle fly will have me pumped up, run tell that homeboy.

I'd say...Very Good Omen.
