Title: Bullshit

What was Oregon's record when he took over?

NEW YORK (AP) -- Oregon coach Chip Kelly has been named winner of the Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year Award, voted on by the Football Writers Association of America.

Kelly led the second-ranked Ducks into the national championship game for the first time in his second season at Oregon. The Ducks, who led the country in scoring, will face top-ranked Auburn in the title game in Glendale, Ariz., on Jan. 10.

Kelly is the first Pac-10 coach to win the award since Washington State's Mike Price in 1997, and the second Oregon coach to get it, joining Rich Brooks in 1994.

The writers association narrowed the field to eight finalists in late November. The award has been handed out since 1957 and was named for Robinson, Grambling State's legendary coach, in 1997.

I'm blown away by this choice.  I heard LaMichele James last night in an interview when asked about making it to the MNC game...he said something to the effect of it being vindication because of all those who said they couldn't do it...how much they've overcome, blah, blah, blah..

Really?  Really?  You were picked by every single freakin' expert in the land to win the PAC 10 and be one of the top teams in the land and in a position to be right there at the end.  Kudos to the Ducks for making it through unscathed but damn, who overcame more?  Who was picked 3rd at best in their on division? Who played a 10X tougher schedule?

And Oregon's coach wins?  Really?

I really believe this.  I know we have had this debate on this board before, but we seem to play with a chip on our shoulder and I don't personally mind this.

I don't expect AU coaches or players to rack up many post season awards, (The Heisman is not included), but it's the kosher thing to hate Auburn right now and believe any shit that people are throwing against the wall hoping that it will stick.

I just hope that with each snub that the team gets that much more pissed off.

I don't think it is so much (hate for Auburn) but the national media is tired of the SEC beating everybody ass.  Auburn just happens to be doing this year.
