Title: I've Got A Fever. And The Only Prescription Is...
Post by: Snaggletiger on December 01, 2010, 10:52:12 AM
More Cam.  One thing that the whole pay-for-play bullshitoke has done is put a gag order on the face of Auburn football for 2010.  Part of me understands why they won't expose him to the unscrupulous bastages that make up our media.  However, The Chin has been able to handle it the way it should be handled by stating right off the bat....questions about the game etc....we'll talk all day.  Questions about the controversy...ain't happenin'.

I would love to have been able to hear the guy speak after the Iron Bowl and get his thoughts on the game and how he's feeling about this dream season.  I see no problem with making it clear that no questions will be fielded about the controversy and let the man tell his fans what happened and what's going through his mind.

Is the gag order the right thing?  Thoughts?

"Cam, what's your relationship like with your father now that you've had so much success on the field?"

"Uh, heh, no comment.  We can talk about the game or the BCS championship game if you'd like."

Quote from the future article:

Quote
While Cam was not allowed to speak on the matter of the NCAA investigation, when asked about his relationship with his father, he appeared a bit frustrated about being forced to say no comment.  He has clearly been steered away from answering any questions, which may lead to the SEC fining Auburn from preventing Cam from being interviewed by the media.

Cam's father is involved in a pay for play scheme....

Yes, it is the right thing.

Don't give the press any ammunition and don't allow the bullshit to serve as any more of a distraction than it already has.

Maybe, but it's always right when administered to a woman properly.

Yep, only three things can happen if he comments:

A. He says something stupid that they actually want to hear.

2. He says something and they twist it to mean something they want to hear.

X. He says something they call a lie because it's not what they want to hear.
