FBI's Cam Newton Probe Expands to Auburn Booster
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The FBI investigation into the cash for Cam Newton scandal now involves a guy who gave more than $1 million to Auburn University ... and was recently arrested in a bribery sting.
According to sources connected to the probe ... FBI agents looking into the Newton recruiting controversy are also asking about Milton McGregor -- a dog track owner arrested last month for allegedly bribing Alabama politicians to vote pro gambling.
We're told agents asked someone connected to the Newton case if he was familiar with McGregor or the bribery scandal.
It's unclear what, if any, direct connection McGregor has to Newton. Back in 2008, McGregor did donate a million bucks toward construction of a new arena at Auburn.
McGregor did not return a call for comment.
-
Translation:
We read somewhere that this guy was involved in an FBI probe, and he donated money to Auburn at some point. Therefore, he has to be involved, right?
-
Sounds about right to me but this was not needed to add to an already seemingly complex issue.

And that's why he rides on a straight up pimpin scooter.
-
McGregor gave us at Troy a million dollars towards our new basketball arena too. The media is just grasping for straws on this one now.

Damn it feels good to be a gangsta.

Right. Just another turd nugget for the sorry ass media to run with.
-
No question a scooter just screams gangsta'. Trust me on that one.

McGregor was one of the ones who had his phone tapped for months, so if there is some connection between him and the Newton fiasco, then the FBI and NCAA would know. I doubt that is something that would come out in the media at this point if there was, or wasn't. But, if the report is accurate that they are talking to McGregor about it, then it could be because they already know because of the wiretaps. I don't think anybody factually knows dick right now, outside of the FBI and NCAA.
-
I know dick. We just finished our afternoon talk a few minutes ago. I'm scheduled to meet with him again around 11pm. We are going to watch "The hills have thighs".

This McGregor thing is not even connected to the Newton situation. If his phones have been tapped for months, the NCAA would have this info long before just in the last two days. TMZ say McGregor connected to Auburn and McGregor connected to gambling sting; and they ran with it. TMZ doesn't seem too far fetched from ESPN right now though.

MM is connected to Paul Bryant, Jr....Okay, next rumor.

Didn't a bunch of Auburn fans clap their hands like a monkey with cymbals when the FBI investigated one of Paul Bryant Jr's businesses? That the FBI was about to unleash a tornado of information implicating Alabama in the biggest scandals of all time?
I could have sworn I've heard this same fucking story before. :taunt:

It's almost as if bammer fans just swapped the names around. The only difference is, Auburn's side stayed on the message boards and SPuat's side is plastered all over the media. A wise man once said, "control the media, control the people".

I went to the doctor about getting some ribs removed. He told me the only way that was gonna happen is if I removed my entire rib cage and removed 30 pounds of stomach fat. He told me it would be cheaper to get married.
Fucking liar.

Nope...the FBI wouldn't share that information with the NCAA, IF they had it. Also, the FBI isn't talking to McGregor. It's stated in the story that they've supposedly asked about him McGregor is under indictment, and has a team of lawyers...the FBI can't talk to him, nor would McGregor talk to them.

Who knows for sure? The FBI is investigating CamGate as well as the NCAA. You asserting that they absolutely would not share the information is just as dumb as if I asserted they absolutely would. Nobody knows.

Um, I've been in law enforcement...the kind where I actually arrest people, investigate cases and prosecute defendants for over 12 years, not just book them in and cook their Freezer Queen meals, but actually work the cases. The Feds don't share information with each other willingly...they're not going to share phone tap evidence that requires a court order/warrant/subpoena with a non law enforcement agency, and the FBI don't give a rats ass about Cam's eligibility. They're looking at Rogers and Bell for trying to buy Cam, Conspiracy and such. What those morons Rogers and Bond don't likely get is they're talking to FBI thinking they're clearing MSU of any wrongdoing, and they're implicating themselves in a conspiracy to affect interstate commerce.

I have watched several Law and Orders over the years and I think that qualifies me to concur with your ascertainment...objection...overruled.

*Breaking News*
After years and years of tight lipped investigations, the FBI is turning everything that they find, as soon as they find it, over to bammerOnline and TMZ. shane from Centerpoint, Legend, perrybammer & Redfish will keep everyone updated.

Per Joe Espy
"Contrary to postings on celebrity and sports blogs, Milton McGregor has never had any contact direct or indirect with Cam Newton, Cecil Newton - Cam's father, Kenny Rogers or anyone purporting to represent Cam Newton. Mr. McGregor has never been asked to provide money for any recruitment or compensation of any current or prospective student athlete including Cam Newton at Auburn or any other school, and has never provided any type of compensation in that regard period no exceptions. As a proud supporter of Auburn University Mr. McGregor wants it known that he does cheer loudly for Cam Newton and thinks he is the best athlete in college football."

Per Joe Espy
Joe Knows....he has an award named after him.
-
He's also on the BOT at UA.
-
The bammers had to start floating this McGregor shit because their calls to the NCAA and SEC wanting Cam declared ineligible and Fairley suspended have not been met with satisfaction. They all keep declaring him Cam ineligible, yet, the NCAA has not despite the "overwhelming evidence of violations making him automatically ineligible". But we're the delusional ones.
-
Perhaps one of you more experienced lawyers can clarify this statement sent to me by my lawyer friend:
"One word about the MM rumors: eviscerated"
I know Milton McGregor's lawyers came out and made a statement that he has never had contact with Cam, Cecil, Kenny, John, or Bill.
And it's pretty sad that this smear campaign has evolved into this. I mean, these "bingo-MM-FBI" rumors literally started with some dumbass bammer attempting to connect the dots between a few stories.

I know the definition. I just wasn't sure if it was used in legal lingo. Lawyer jargon. Attorney slang.

Yeah, it is...MM has gotten his internal organs removed. Doesn't sound to good for him, this is serious bidness now. So much for falling up the stairs.

I see Nick Saban and Tuskaloser trying to distance themselves from Jody Wright and TMZ.

Slang for "gutted". Meaning the rumors have been squelched. I guess.
But here's how this shit gets legs. TMZ reported that someone involved in the Newton investigation was asked if he knew MM or about the bribery scandal. That's "evolved" in to "MM was interviewed by the FBI in the Newton scandal".
The sad shit is...the "facts" in this case have not grown much, if at all, since that Thursday it broke...but in many quarters its: Cecil asked for money, Auburn bought Cam through Milton Mc., the NCAA is going to hammer Auburn". There's a small percentage of folks out there that believe all that.
-
Word on da skreets...Herbstreit has said that big news will be coming out Thursday....lemme guess, ESPN is gonna quote TMZ and other "anonymous sources (redfish, perrybammer, legend, shane)" that Milton is somehow tied into this saga.

I sometimes get carried away thinking the net and talk radio noise is representative, but I'm not sure. Many Bama Fans I talk to (lawyers and judges mostly) look at it like lawyers and judges would...they don't see anything but a bunch of allegations and he said/he said crap. But neither of those two "demographics" is probably representative.
