Report: FBI interviews former Mississippi State player John Bond as part of Cam Newton story

Former Mississippi State quarterback John Bond met with the FBI today about his knowledge of the recruitment of Auburn quarterback Cam Newton to Mississippi State, his attorney told the Jackson Clarion-Ledger in an email today.
Bond was one of the first persons to emerge in the two-week-old story that has shadowed Newton. Neither Auburn nor Cam Newton have been accused in the plan devised by Newton's father, Cecil Newton Sr., in his conversations with Mississippi State about money.
Phil Abernethy wrote in an e-mail Tuesday that John Bond met with federal and state investigators and "cooperated fully with both agencies," according to the Associated Press.
Kenny Rogers, a former Mississippi State player who said he heard Cecil Newton Sr. talk about money with Mississippi State, was scheduled to meet with NCAA investigators today, said Ian Fitzsimmons, who has interviewed Rogers twice on ESPN Radio in Dallas.
Bond was one of the first players in the Cam Newton story. A Nov. 4 story said Bond said Rogers approached him about money for Mississippi State to sign Newton.
And now the speculative part:
Seems to me like this further supports the theories that all of this stink is on MSU and their recruiting practices, and does not implicate Auburn in any way.

That's because there's no evidence of it. Obviously State will want to make it like Cecil approached them, and they were in complete shock and horror and immediately backed off and reported it. Of course, the timeline on it all, says that's not what happened.
