Number 2 in AP and USA.

Number 2 in AP and USA.
those bastards!
-
1 Oregon (49) 9-0 1484
2 Auburn (2) 10-0 1396
3 TCU (2) 10-0 1391
4 Boise State (7) 8-0 1366
88 points seperate us from #1 and 5 points separate us from #3.
25 more to get to #4. And seven assholes still think Boise's the #1 team in the country... Compared to only two who think it's us while the same number think it's TCU...
-
If 7 voters gave BS the number 1 ranking and they are still number 5, it says a lot about how they are viewed by the rest of the voters.
-
Well, considering that we were 3rd in the AP last week, then came the rumors on Cam, I'd say moving up to 2nd by the people of the same job description that were trashing us says a lot also.
-
Yall are setting pretty. Just win out. If yall lose, it's gonna fuck us up, too.
-
7 Douche' Bags think Boise's are the best team in the country :taunt:

AP is meaningless....
What matters:
Coaches:
1 Oregon (50) 9-0 1463 1
2 Auburn (4) 10-0 1389 2
3 TCU (2) 10-0 1340 4
Harris:
1 Oregon (93) 9-0 2820 1
2 Auburn (7) 10-0 2684 2
3 TCU (5) 10-0 2620 4

He can actually talk out of one side of his mouth now.
-
Good lord all these guys do is talk out the sides of their mouths. Just shows it is all about sensationalism and ratings and nothing to do with actualities, and exactly why allowing these schmucks to vote on anything is ridonkulous
-
As long as no FCS team is ahead of us in any of the polls, its cool with me. However, being behind Boise St or TCU is a joke

It's like you know what I'm gonna say before I say it.

]The pundits do not think Auburn can beat an improving Georgia, Alabama in Tuscaloosa and Urban Meyer in a showdown in Atlanta. I think they realize the difficulty but are not sold on AU's defense. All they want is an opportunity to say I told you so, the SEC is weaker this season and defense wins championships as always.
AMEN CORNER
Auburn must prove them wrong by cleaning house. They need to control both sides of scrimage against the Bulldogs, something they haven't done in four years. Any type of victory at Bryant-Denny is enough.
+1
Can you imagine the build-up to the SEC Championship Game? The backstory, the pre-game hype and the introductory piece alone are made to order drama. We know it and the entire country knows it because they have seen it unfold before them in previous weeks.
-
Let me just say first that I'm aware that I should save my frustration since all that really matters in this system is ending up in the Top 2, which we absolutely control.
But it does irk me that there is a gap the size of the grand canyon between us and Oregon in every poll (except the computers, the only one with no bias), and we're a mouse turd ahead of TCU and Boise in all of those same polls. Basically to them it's Oregon, and then a virtual three way tie with Auburn having the slight edge.
Are you fucking kidding me? Auburn has beaten 5 currently ranked teams. Oregon has beaten one. Stanford. Our SOS is ranked 3rd while theirs is 142nd. That is ridiculous. We are plowing through the league that has won the NC game every single one of the six times we've been allowed to prove it. Including the last four in a row. What substitution for logic are these voters using to possibly say that Oregon is an undoubted #1 team in the country while we're merely holding the slight edge over two non-AQ schools for the #2 spot?

Where you see that? I would like to have it on hand for some arguments on other boards.
You do realize that there are only 120 Division 1 teams right?
Most of the ones I have seen up through this week have us in the mid 20s and Oregon just over 100 but your point is still pretty valid.

I just think the criteria is higher for Auburn even with the best player in college football. We had a very good season turn decent last year, some close victories to date, given up a lot of points while looking silly in doing so and that is their impression of Auburn. The regional bias has always existed so the computer input must be at fault. Auburn must jump through more hoops.

Again all we gotta do is get there...let them not show us any respect.

If you are only going to use the W/L criteria then that table has some really solid info in it.

I know what you're thinking and I like it. Their ignorance is only fuel to our fire.

Since this year is a "win and in" scenario, watching the polls is not as exciting and excruciating as it was in 2004.........
but I did find this site and I think it has some pretty neat info regarding the polls:
http://www.pollspeak.com/pollstalker/pollstalker.php?s=13&p=27&t1=9&t2=&v=406&w=11&r=V
enjoy!
ps: If you dig around on the site a little bit, you can find information on all 6 of the computer polls as well as some information regarding the Coach's Poll and in-depth breakdown of the AP Poll.......wonder if xCTT is one of our 4 first place votes?
pps: other coaches of interest that vote in the Coach's Poll:
Urban Meyer
Nick Saban
Dan Mullen
Jimbo Fisher
Bobby Petrino
David Cutcliffe
George O'Leary
Paul Rhoads
Mark Richt
Steve Spurrier
Howard Schnellenberger
Ron Zook
by agreement, the Coach's must vote the winner of the BCS title games as #1..........a few of the guys on the above list are going to have a seizure IF Auburn can win out and they HAVE to vote for them.
