Title: Did ESPN Issue an Apology?
Post by: Townhallsavoy on November 06, 2010, 02:10:05 PM
A friend of mine said ESPN issued an apology for going with the story without having all of the facts.

Is this true?

LAMP - I'm out of the loop this morning as I trimmed my hedges.  I thought it would take 2 hours.  It took 4.

If they did, I didn't hear it.

I don't think anybody has specifically apologized, but most of the media outlets today are certainly taking pains to make sure everyone knows that Auburn isn't implicated in anything, and that very little is known about what happened at MSU, and that it would seem there won't be much to it in the end, unless some very damning NEW evidence is uncovered.  If not an apology, all but.   Barnhart and Brando were pretty good to Cam and Auburn on their show too.

I haven't seen or heard anything.    Did hear that Schlabach was a no-show today in AU.  Haha.   :silence:

Has Nick issued an apology to ESPN for phuking-up the grand plan? I guess now its on to plan B and a non-BCS opponent to face Oregon. What will Jesse Palmer say?

I have watched A LOT of SEC games today - and other than a short discussion at the beginning of Gameday, the other game commentators and halftime guys have just really not focused on it like I was afraid they would.  I am not sure Verne and Gary even said anything.  I think the general concensus is that there is no smoke OR fire where Cam himself (and his daddy) are concerned, and the best move for them is to downplay it all.

We should really be grateful it was at the END of a week against a layup team.  VERY VERY grateful.  Had this been Georgia week or Iron Bowl week?  Holy shit...

I swear in all my years, I think our guy can lead Auburn over any team against the most negative circumstances. I think he is that good. I am biased, but I have never seen a college player like Cam Newton. And I think the Great Bo Jackson would back me on this one even though my opinion doesn't count for poop. I might need to adopt that wolf boy photo as my avatar, but I think we are really going to enjoy the next 4 games.

Actually, after hearing some comments b/w coaches and players, Georgia and bama are gonna be on the raw end of the deal.
