OH... and LOOK!! The teams Auburn have beated ARE STILL RANKED IN THE TOP 25, YOU FUCKING IDIOTS!!! Not to mention that they were all ranked (except Miss State?) when we played them.
Arkansas.
LSU.
South Carolina.
Miss State.
And one ranked opponent still to come.
Yet Oregon is a better team.
:taunt: :taunt:

So, we're ranked #1 #2 and #3 all at the same time....interesting. What in the world are the AP voters thinking, seriously.
-
What three coaches believe Boise State is #1?
What seven AP voters believe Boise State is #1?
I'll accept Oregon getting more respect. They play in a BCS level conference and have beaten some good BCS level teams. You like them more. No problem.
But Boise State? I mean this vendetta against the BCS is getting downright ridiculous.
-

I'd be willing to bet coaches from the teams they've beaten (Oregon St comes to mind) and their own coach.
What seven AP voters believe Boise State is #1?
West Coast voters and Herbie is my guesses, regardless they are idiots.

When we beat Georgia and bama, all this will clear itself up.
-
Nothing needs to be cleared up. #1 or #2 in the BCS gets you to the BCSCG. We have the #1 spot, and all BCS gurus predicted we'd be there by year's end if we won out about 3 weeks ago. We got their quicker.

What I meant was when we finish out our season undefeated, this Boise love fest want matter. We will be #1 or #2 in all the polls. You're right though, we are #1 in the one that matters most and #2 in the one that carries more weight in the cpu rankings.

It does and will matter in principle. This is the type of shit that causes 2004 to happen. To not make this personal, this is the type of shit that causes 2003 to happen (see USC getting left out).
It might not truly affect this season or at least Auburn, but it could in the future.
These "idiots" should be questioned about their votes. Then, let the college football world determine whether or not their justifications make enough sense to let them keep their vote.

I think I'd like the system less when someone could either vote the way the majority thinks is "correct", or not vote at all.

So we're saying that no matter what a person's reasoning is, they can vote however they want because it's their right to do so as a voter? Even if it defies logic and intelligence?
I mean, what if former Alabama players in the Harris poll decided to vote Alabama #1 just to help them creep up in the BCS standings and give them the best chance to jump teams and get into the BCSCG?
-
IF Oregon loses (even if in the actual BCS championship game) and Boise remains unbeaten, the AP will award Boise their version of the National Championship. The press has a hard on for non BCS conference teams and will award one of them if given the opportunity.

It would be one thing if you could establish clear bias due to a direct connection to the school. And with that, a clear lack of objective view, like voting bammer #1 when they had 3 losses. But to simply declare someone "wrong" and "defying logic or intelligence" for a poll vote you disagree with, which is an opinion....no, I don't like that at all. JMHO, YMMV.
-
And though it's unpopular, I still hold Boise along with Bama as the most complete teams. The fact that Boise isn't part of the BCS, their schedule or the color of their phukin field doesn't deter my opinion of them as a cagey veteran team that can and will embarrass the greater number of BCS teams in a one-game showdown on the big stage. I don't go for the "if they played in the SEC" thinking. We are talking the present here. Kellen Moore is a phukin warhorse.Their starters can man up with most any team and they have the extra motivation factor of being slighted added in. That's tough to beat. Alabama can do as much with quality depth at hand. I am unbiased with my opinion of other teams. Oregon scores faster than any team EVER. That's worrisome, but I think we fare better against a similar style team at a breakneck pace because Auburn is a scoring machine as well but with a better D overall in my opinion.
-
The point still remains that when Auburn beats Georgia and then a top five bama, all this shit will clear up and Auburn will be the consensus #1 or #2. With winning the SEC championship game is just extra icing.
-
So, we fall to #2 in the BCS. Whatever, we can only control what this teams does and not what any voter or computer calculates. Auburn control its own destiny and does so by continuing to win. I'm curious is to what happens next week when Auburn beats the piss out of a not so stellar team. Regardless Auburn is in great position to reach the pinnacle in Glendale and beat the Ducks.

It sucks to drop a spot, but USC is better than LOLMiss in just about every way imaginable.

USC is definitely better than The Black Bears. But what I'm not understanding is that Auburn moved up to #2 in the Coaches Poll and are still #1 in the 'puters, but dropped a spot. Sucks, 'cause I was loving the attention that being #1 brought. Oh well...I guess the pressure's off and now this team can focus on regaining that top spot by winning out. I wouldn't be surprised to see TCU get some major love if they're able to beat the shit outta Utah @ Utah.

I agree, I didn't want to see that at all but USC is better than the Fighting Nuttsacks. I don't really see anybody beating Oregon from here on out until we meet them in the championship game. This I am sure sounds a bit homerish but I really don't see any other team out there that has the offensive power that can match Oregon besides Auburn.
-

I think what the coaches saw was that Auburn could have made this much much worse but pulled off the throttle a lot. I have no idea what the AP is thinking.

Couldn't have said it better myself. :sarcasm:

This was what I was referring to by wondering what will happen next week with TCU. There is a chance that we could get jumped by TCU if they beat Utah before we get to Amen corner since Utah is ranked pretty high in the BCS. Still no worries though, when we beat bama that will jump us to #1.
-
Don't forget, the week before, we leapfrogged Boise, and Oregon in the BCS when OU lost. That made about as much sense as us dropping when we lost this week. I'll say it again...#1 and #2 play on Jan. 10, 2011 in Glendale, AZ. If we win out, we will be one of the two teams in that game.
-

Oregon jumped us because their SOS in the computers jumped way up from 8th to 3rd I think in the computer polls.
-
Okay first, the Corches poll needs to be abolished immediately. This is something that should never have existed in the first place. Do I say that because of any slight against Auburn? Nope. It's because every single interview I've ever heard with ANY Corch across America...not just this year....ANY year, brings the exact same response. "I don't pay attention to the polls or what everybody else is doing. I only have time to think about the next team on our schedule."
And these guys are allowed to vote? Didn't Spurrier admit to having someone vote for him last year because he doesn't have time to look at it?
Also, the argument is the strength of schedule. We get punished because Oregon played a pretty good USC team and our opponent lost to JSU and Vandy earlier. Well, the #3 Horny Toads play the #5 Youthful Defendants this week. Will we see too much love for the underdogs? Something tells me the winner of that game jumps Auburn.
-
Logic would dictate that we at least end up #2 this year. The AP's love fest with the non-AQ's defies logic, however, which scares me.
I absolutely think the winner of TCU/Utah jumps us this week. No matter who wins, they're beating a "colossal top 5 team." That will turbo boost their standing in the polls. And if the winner of that game doesn't squeeze into the #2 spot, Boise may. It won't make sense, but the voters obviously could give a shit about SOS.
And let's say bammer drops the ball against LSU or MSU. Despite what bammers around here may believe, that is not beyond the realm of possibilities. If that happens, bammer will have to drop like a rock with 2 losses. Easily out of the top 10, possibly out of the top 20. Suddenly our Iron Bowl win is not that impressive.
I'm getting real nervous about the 2004 Déjà vu.

Then you've apparently bought in to the "Auburn gets no national respect" bullshit the bammers have peddled for years about Auburn, and because of such, you've completely lost touch with reality on this issue.
