I wonder how much these guys get paid. I am not sure you could pay me enough.

Holy crap. And I thought derrick men were idiots.
What gets me is that the metal he is clipping into is probably some sort of aluminum alloy? I am no engineer - maybe Sani can answer this one about metal - but I would think you would want a tower that tall for that purpose to be as light as possible - and so if he is clipping into a lightweight material, how secure is he REALLY? Esp since that once he gets to the top, the rungs are open-ended - that hook could slip right off if the wind caught him right.
No freaking way.

"Fuck Jim, I tell you I am getting real tired of changing these GD lightbulbs"
-
Yeah. At about the 1:45 mark, this is where they will need a rescue team to pull my shit-stained, death-gripped body from the tower.
And wouldn't it be easier if these guys just parachuted back down?
-
Anyway you cut it that's bat shit crazy.
On the plus side I bet they don't ever get any OSHA visits.

Well, no need for exercise today. My heart rate has successfully been increased.

I don't even like climbing a ladder to get on my roof.

I was up on a 35 foot extension ladder 2 weeks ago and got to the top thinking..."this is pretty fucking high up"....I can't imagine 1700 feet.
-
Did that make anyone else want to :puke:
or was it just me?

Damn, I worked out of a crane basket on a job one time on a flare that was 300 ft and I thought that was high. If you've ever rode in a 120 foot manlift stretched all the way out that is worse in my opinion, but there is no way in hell I could do that job. I'd have to have a parachute attached to my back.
