So, I guess I will stop defending Nutt now.
Not that I ever thought he was in the upper 2/3rds of SEC coaches anyway, but I didn't think he was completely inept. Looks like he is. I can't believe they beat Tulane, frankly.
Fresno State will probably beat them this weekend as well. Going into the fifth game of the season with a loss to Jacksonville State, Vanderbilt, and Fresno State with your only win being to Tulane is pretty damn low, even for Mississippi State.

It's hard to defend Nutt with what he's putting on the field. I still stand by my point that relative to Arkansas standards, he was the right fit for them. What does everybody think about the theory that the team is giving him a big :fu: over this whole Masoli thing? I mean, how else do you explain all of this?

I am in agreement. I think the team has quit on him. The other QB played pretty damn good against Jacksonville St. until Masolli fucked everything up.

I'm noticing a pattern here. Both weekends I have been off since football season started, I have been in Mississippi each Saturday, at the same place each time. Ole Miss lost to Jax St the first time, and now to Vandy. Hopefully I can continue to hex the state.

I'm pretty sure they'd rather win than embarrass their coach. Now, could it have caused some disarray similar to what the Tony Franklin experiment caused at Auburn? Perhaps.
Somewhat off topic, but along those lines, I laugh in the face of the conspiracy theory that VT lost to James Madison on purpose, just to fuck with Boise State. Maybe it's because they just suck, at least as bad as Kansas when they lost to North Dakota State or Ole Miss when they lost to Jax State.

I think that some of the team didn't like Masoli being forced down their throats, and Nutt throwing together a makeshift offensive scheme tailored towards Masoli at the last minute isn't helping matters either.
Now as far as the VT thing goes, I don't believe that VT threw the game on purpose either. I just don't see Beamer letting that go down.

I don't think they went in saying "Man, we're totally going to lose this game", but I can see a "Fuck this, I'm not doing anything and whatever happens happens" attitude seemed to be prevelant.
