I thought The One was going to pay all their mortgages, gas bills, and yet they are in the same shape they were in 2 years ago if not worse off.

I have stayed out of this forum for a while. I am disgusted by what I see going on, not only in DC, but on the state and local levels as well. I don't know anyone who can say they are better off today than they were 2, 3 or 4 years ago. I know several who can say they are worse off. If the public doesn't wake up and vote the bums out of office that we currently have, I don't know that we will recover. Even our more "liberal" friends on the board will agree (or at least I believe) that we are sinking fast at the way the gov't is spending money that we don't have and creating an entitlement mentality.

This incident is yet another example of the programs that this current administration is authoring which only keep people dependent on the largess of big government entitlements to, lets just be frank here, buy votes. Nothing that this administration or Congress does is helping to truly improve the economy. It seems to me that most of the spending to 'save jobs' is to save 'government' jobs. It's absolutely blatant! We're not making any progress other than moving more and more towards socialism.
At this point, the only thing that I want to result from this coming November election is for Republicans to become the House majority and for them to have the balls to say "NO" to The ONE. Now he's going to make them look like the proverbial Bad Guys but they are going to have to have the chutzpa to force the government (along with the entitlement-minded masses) to wake up from this Keynesian economic wet dream! FedGov cannot improve things by spending the nation's way out of debt and into a better economy! FedGov cannot improve anything by engorging itself at the expense of our free market system! As I said earlier, this administration (along with it's Congressional pals) is not helping matters.
