Following quickly on the heels of Charlie Rangel's (D-NY) alleged ethics violations we now find out that Maxine Waters (D-CA) is now under scrutiny. This is CLEARLY a case of racism! But, naturally, Waters claims that she did nothing wrong.
I will have to agree with Rush Limbaugh on this one...the only thing that she and Charlie Rangel (D-NY) did wrong was to back Hillary in the primary! The ONE does not forget being disrespected. And to paraphrase 'Mother Nature' it's not nice to fool The ONE especially if you're a Dem (and in the Congressional Black Caucus).
From The Politico, all emphasis is my own:
Waters asks for release of allegations

Rep. Maxine Waters has asked the ethics committee to release its official report on allegations that she broke House rules and to give her a speedy trial.
The request, made in a letter to the committee Wednesday evening, waives her right to have the committee's "Statement of Alleged Violation" kept secret until the panel officially moves to hear her case.
The California Democrat also specifically asked that her trial start before the November election.
POLITICO first reported on Tuesday night her plans to ask for a quick trial and the release of the ethics document.
The outlines of the allegations against her, that she brought discredit on the House and violated conflict of interest rules, already have been reported in the media. But the SAV also contains the substance of the committee's investigation of her, including depositions and other evidence collected.
Waters says she did nothing wrong in the case, which centers around a meeting she arranged for executives of OneUnited Bank and the National Bankers Association with Treasury Department officials. Waters' husband, Sidney Williams, has $250,000 in stock in OneUnited and once sat on the board.

I agree with you here. Not saying they do NOTHING wrong because they did, but compared to what some others in D.C. have done recently - Shumer, Frank, Dodd, Emmanuel - this is peanuts. Coincidental that Waters and Rangel didn't support the ONE in 2008? I think not.

She is asking for some gusty play from her attorneys.

Facing Ethics Charges, Rep. Waters Points Finger at Bush Administration
FoxNews.com
August 13, 2010
Embattled Rep. Maxine Waters on Friday blamed the Bush administration for her ethics problems -- saying she had to intervene with the Treasury Department on behalf of minority-owned banks seeking federal bailout funds -- including one tied to her husband -- because the Treasury Department wouldn't schedule its own appointments.
