Key stretch: Auburn

AUBURN

Key stretch: at Mississippi State (Sept. 9), Clemson (Sept. 18), South Carolina (Sept. 25).

Analysis: At first glance, you look at Auburn’s schedule and think, “Hey, these guys could very easily be 6-0 going into that Arkansas game on Oct. 16.” But then you look closer and realize how pivotal that three-game stretch in September is for the Tigers. Right off the bat, the trip to Starkville, Miss., to play the Bulldogs could be a dicey one. It’s the first SEC game of the season, a Thursday night affair on ESPN, and you know Scott Field will be rocking. Mississippi State’s going to beat somebody this season that nobody expects the Bulldogs to beat. Maybe it’s the Tigers. However it shakes out, it won’t get any easier the next two weeks with Clemson and South Carolina coming to Jordan-Hare Stadium. One way or the other, it’s going to be a September to remember on the Plains.

Prediction: Six of the Tigers’ first eight games are at home, so they have to protect their home turf if they’re going to be a player in the Western Division race. And to set the right tone, they need to come out of September unbeaten, especially with LSU, Georgia and Alabama all lurking on down the road. The other thing to remember is that Auburn plays the first 11 weeks before getting a bye, so there won’t be any breaks to get healthy or regroup. The key is surviving that Thursday night game at Mississippi State the second week of the season. It will be quarterback Cameron Newton's debut against an SEC defense as a starter. If the Tigers do make it out alive, a 4-0 start doesn’t seem so far-fetched, and for that matter, neither does a 6-0 start, which means the toilet paper will be flowing at Toomer’s Corner.

I would lean more towards Clemson or USCe being a potential landmine, but MSU is no patsy.

Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall said, "Guys don't mind hitting Michael Vick in the open field, but when you see Cam, you have to think about how you're going to tackle him. He's like a big tight end coming at you."

I agree with about MSU, although out of those I think we can all agree that Clemson is the biggest test. I do think SC has chance just like anyone else does but Im not too concerned with the Cocks.

You don't have to try so hard to convince us you're not concerned with the Cock.  Go ahead and admit that you love the Cocks.

My doctor told me I needed to stop masturbating.  I asked him why, and he said, "because I'm trying to examine you."

I'm still hoping the Rockies change their mind about letting Kyle Parker play at Clemson this year. Has anybody heard an update on that?

Years in which Auburn could claim a National Title....using SPuat's theories, also we'd throw in five or six National Titles because we'd have that same "Little Brother Syndrome" that SPuat had when they went from 6 National Titles to 11 back in '84-'85.

I think the tail may have moved, it should be hit again.  One more good time.  For the record, put Bama's total at 1 for all I care, that's the only one I'm celebrating this year anyway.  I believe RWS also doesn't buy in to the 13NC's but I'm not 100%.  I just thought aubie's sig was cool.
