Auburn's 2010 signees: Where they stand now
Published: Thursday, June 24, 2010, 7:50 AM     Updated: Thursday, June 24, 2010, 8:11 AM

Evan Woodbery

One of the traditions of August is sorting out the players still ensnared in the NCAA Clearinghouse process (or the Slaughterhouse, as former coach Tommy Tuberville liked to joke).

This year, however, the academic status of most players is already resolved. Virtually everyone, in fact, has already reported to campus to enroll in one or both of the summer academic sessions.

That doesn't even count the five players who enrolled earlier and participated in spring practice.
Of the players who haven't reported -- defensive lineman Joel Bonomolo and safety Demetruce McNeal -- neither case appears to be serious and both are ultimately expected to arrive.

The only confirmed non-qualifier is receiver Jeremy Richardson, who has already enrolled in junior college and hopes to re-sign with Auburn at the earliest opportunity.

Offensive lineman Shon Coleman is undergoing treatment for acute lymphoblstic leukemia. Auburn would certainly welcome Coleman to campus in any capacity, but it's probably safe to say that football is not part of the discussion for the moment.

Bonomolo and McNeal SHOULD be ok. Just paperwork formalities from what I have heard.

Coleman has cancer so.......that leaves 1 - count it - 1 player of 32 who didn't actually qualify.

Who was it comparing Chizik's and Tub's attrition rates? This is night and day difference.
