American troops bravely stormed ashore at Utah & Omaha beaches in Normandy.

My grandfather was one of them....and made it out alive amazingly.

He died 2 years ago with bullet fragments still in his thigh and shoulder from 66 years ago.

The greatest generation indeed........

My grandfather was in the second wave at Normandy.  Never spoke about it.

After being there the last two days I can honestly say that I have ever been among so much.greatness. I spoke to everyone of them I could. Truly amazing men.
