I'm sorry I ruffled your panties. I will make sure to check with you (message board police) next time I post something. I think by me mentioning how CTT was crucufied for players not making grades or making it for other reasons, it made it pretty clear that I was pointing out the hypocrisy. But then again, nobody batted an eye when it was happening when CTT was there either.

True enough, CTT wasn't Alabama's coach. I think it just kills me that the guy makes 1 phukup in 10 years, and isn't even given a chance to fix it. He ran a great program at AU. I would have KILLED to have him, or a coach like him, at Alabama in that time.

CTT wasn't crucified for one fuck up.  Auburn had some great times under CTT and he'll be remembered as an all time great on Teh Planes.  I loved the guy too and have said many times that I was pumped when we hired the man.  He was classy, well respected and represented the University as good as anyone could hope for.

However, since the 04' season, his program was on a slow but steady decline.  The numbers looked good but kept getting progressively worse.  Instead of building on the success of an undefeated 04' season, the recruiting was sporadic at best.  Then...dare I say it...Saban came in and started kicking ass on the recruiting trail and on the field and those problems with CTT's program started coming to light.

Now, let's keep one thing in mind where Tuberville's departure is concerned.  I know what everyone's perception is about him being "Run out".  It may have happened.  But the official position is that Tommy Tuberville needed to get away from coaching for a while and he made the decision.  Whether you like or don't like him...whether you believe anything out of his mouth or not....Jay Jacobs says he asked TT to stay and Tommy refused.  One would think there were at least some legs to the gossip about problems in his marriage and personal life so the possibility of him stepping away voluntarily is very real.  On a side note, my first cousin is JJ's secretary and she said Tommy Tuberville was a shell of the man she had known in years past.  She never gave me any scoop (Bitch) but she made it clear that he wasn't the same man his last year.

You simply seem pretty agitated any time you respond. If that's not the case, then whatever.....

I think you'd like me to be agitated.  It's not the case.  I don't have to get the least bit worked up to make a response to a bammer on the net and call it like I see it.  If you think it requires being 'agitated', then whatever.

1 phuk up????  If that is what you think you really don't know what you are talking about. Read my earlier post. 2005-2008 was a phuk up to be honest. Go look at the steady decline on both sides of the ball in talent and W/L records. The son of a bitch got complacent after 2004 and knew he had the PTB by the ball sack.  40% + attrition rate!! Understand that stat. Chizik's is no where close to that. Nevermind the fact Chiz inherited the cupboard dry and is having to do whatever he needs to compete and recruit (Big Cat, Prowl, taking a Fat Ass OL from FSU, etc). Of course some of those guys aren't gonna pan out. But he is going after Big Game. Something Wingnut and his BBQ Boys never did. They are going after who they WANT- not settling for some high risk kid who has little chance of ever making it to the field even though he may have 4 stars.

This is why the Rivals rankings are very skewed under Tubs. The rankings are not even impressive aside from a few years. If you take the attrition rate into account, we are probably not even in the Top 30 except for a few years.

Too much to rehash...Tubs did good things.  Count me in the group that chooses to remember things about Tuberville's tenure other than Fred Talley's romp many moons ago or the like...which were NOT the norm.  My take has always been that it's incredibly hard to negotiate an NCAA D1 scheduel unscathed, at any level, but especially in the SEC.  Tuberville didn't even get the chance to play for an NC in 2004, and that was probably a bigger kick in the nuts than any of us will ever know.  Tubs biggest downfall was his undying loyalty to assitant coaches with no ambition to move up to header jobs.  I wish him the best.

Quit sucking Wingnut's tool RWS. You're better than that.
No, he isn't.

But you, GH, should be above getting goaded into yet another fucking discussion about Tubs with a fucking bammer, for crissakes.
He doesn't get it. He never gets it. None of them do.

And do not call Tommy Tuberville a pussy in my presence again. I'm not saying he didn't fuck up...but a pussy that man is not.

I'm not gonna have a fucking Bammer turd try to tell us how GREAT this guy was. Jesus - they probably wish he was still here (36-0). And if they don't I'm not sure why. The thing is - people base their opinions of Tubs off what he did in 2000-2004. Yeah, that was pre Saban. Chizik is recruiting and playing with Bama on the field competitively so far. 2008 - we werent even in the same ball park.   Ah.......now I see RWS. THAT's why you like Tubs so much. You were probably sad to see him go. You would have enjoyed pounding on us another couple of years with him at the helm. All makes sense now.

Au contraire, mon frère.

Saban was in a little town called Baton Rouge at the time.

Same man, same conference. They just weren't casting his cock in bronze down there.

I like the thread title... AyManMeat. lol

+3 to the filter
I think the title is merely an homage to the filter, not a result of it.

I was beat to the punch by about 45 seconds in creating this thread with this very same title.

After review, the three point conversion should be awarded to Buzz.

Honestly, as an Alabama fan, I was pretty fucking glad to see him go. He had owned our ass the better part of the decade. I really don't think we would have seen another 36-0 pounding like that in the forseeable future. AU got caught with their pants down at the end of a season with no OC. I would imagine a team without an OC would be a little fucked up. I'm not saying the man was perfect, but he did a good job of owning Alabama, he ran a good clean program, and he won a shit ton of games while at AU.

No inside info, but the time line would fit grades being a factor.  Didn't they just finish finals a week or two ago.  Either way I hope he gets a shot at another school to get his act together.

Well, Chizik is at 32% on his first class so far. 35% if you want to count the OL from FSU. We still don't know about the 2010 class, except for I think 8 guys on campus so far.

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

Everyone on your list except Aycock and Rollison is a Tuberville recruit.  And I believe Brandon Jacobs went on to play minor league baseball, as was expected.  I don't think his absence has anything to do with grades.

So really, of the 13 or 14 Chizik recruits from that class, only 2 are missing at this point.  And even so, that class doesn't really count too much because most of Chizik's recruits were late grabs, so it's to be expected that a few may have issues or may have been a reach to start with.

We won't really be able to have this discussion about Chizik for a few years.
