False.  I like the South.  I like living here and I like the culture.  What I don't like (and this goes for any state and politics) is that people don't think for themselves.  I'm from Alabama, I listen to Rush Limbaugh, I'm conservative. 

Now, I'm not saying that is everyone...but a lot of people are like that.  If you want to be conservative, republican, democrat, socialist, that is fine with me.  Just think it out first, and use your own reasoning to do so...

Generalize all you want. The commercial in this thread, the way it was presented, and the ideas that it was trying to appeal to, absolutely make this state look stupid. As predicted in the first post, it has gone national and now we're the butt of jokes because of it. If you're proud of being ignorant, I can't think of a better word for that besides redneck. If you're one of the people that will vote for this guy because, and only because you were duped into thinking "Yeah! Fuck them brown people takin our jobs. Learn Anglish Motherfucker! This is America so speak American!", you are an idiot. Plain and simple. Black and white. The discussion is over. He was trying to frame it as an immigration issue (and some of you fell for it), when it was an issue in having the test in languages such as sign language or Korean to accomodate the booming foreign auto industry in Alabama. Furthermore, it has been proven that what he is proposing will actually lose money for the state rather than save it, as he suggested. And then to top it all off, the whole thing he's proposing is completely unconstitutional.

Some of the idiotic things Chizad (and others) says/supports makes me weep for the future.  You (and others) don't have to explicitly say that your own opinion is the only one considered valid its how you respond to those who disagree which makes that fact crystal clear.  Nothing wrong with that, but at least own it.  I don't mind saying that on some topics (not all) if you're diametrically opposed to my position, I automatically consider you lacking in intelligence or discernment.  You (and others) have just as clearly illustrated your disdain for particular opinions here and it's blatantly obvious that you consider those who think differently than you to be ignorant.  Just own it.

I never said the commercial was in good taste. I never endorsed the commercial. I never said I was voting for Tim James.  And I am not voting for Tim James. Honestly - I dont think this is of the utmost concern at the moment. There are more pressing issues.   I have to give you credit for the unconstitutional comment as you also said the HC Bill was UC as well. At least you were consistent on that one.
