Are you guys serious?

This is just dumb... The commercial is dumb and Tim James is a simpleton.  As an Alabamian or prior Alabamian you should all be ashamed that this man is representing the state.  This is gives people ammunition to mock us.

Yes, I'm serious because it's a safety issue. If they can't read this then they should not be able to drive here.

When Rudy G. took over as Mayor of New York the city was on the verge of collapse. It was teetering on the brink of insolvency.  Times Square was a teeming cesspool of porn and drugs. Corruption riddled the police force and the unions.  What did Rudy do?  Did he attack that?  Yeah he did.  But he also worked on the small things.  He resurrected NYC by insisting that people BE NICE.  He cracked down on the little things:  jaywalking, squeegee guys, graffiti etc.  His focus on fixing little things translated into broader improvements.  There were people -- just like you -- who said Rudy was a moron and didn't he realize that the city had bigger problems than people jumping turnstiles at the subway?  They were wrong.  Look at New York today.

Fixing little things...attention to details upon assumption of his leadership role...

Seems like you think there is value in doing the little things to so that they might translate into "broader improvements".

If only Chizik would line up the players' helmets just so, maybe we might see "broader improvements".

You do know that there is an international uniformity in the shape of street signs so the words on them are kind of pointless.

When you're doing it as part of a broader plan and with purpose, yeah.  I get it.

When you're doing it because you don't know anything else to do and are just implementing arbitrary rules to implement arbitrary rules... no.

I don't normally chime in on political debates....but...   There's so much shit going on right now dividing America, that I'm paying more attention than I ever have.

As far as immigration, and specifically the drivers license isssue...and Arizona... and Lowes, it's all different to me for these reasons...

1. Drivers License and this Tim James commercial.  I saw it for the first time the other night, and literally facepalmed.  Not because I so much disagree with the message, but the delivery.   Look, I understand that signs are in different colors and shapes for specific reasons.  If an illegal, or someone that CHOOSES NOT to learn english can pass the test based on symbols and the english necessary to pass it, then all power to them, I consider them safe enough to drive around.  However, the traveling world inside the United States is based on english and if you're going to do it safely, you need to be proficient enough to pass the test accordingly.

The commercial to me was poorly delivered because, regardless of Mr. James's education level, it made him look like every other country music douchebag that MUST under penalty of death, mention his truck, truck bed, getting laid in said truck, or have a damn good tractor story instead.  It was made to spark interest in a specific minded person, and unfortunately probably turned an equal amount of well educated people off in it's ridiculousness.

2. Arizona, and the illegals.  People are getting murdered on the border.  Illegals are pouring daily into the country and sucking our resources dry.  People bitching about this bill are only concerned about themselves and not the good of the country, or the well being of Arizona citizens.  Usually based only on principle and not the facts of the specific situation.  Civil rights?  Paper checks?  How about securing the border and keeping murderers out of the US that don't belong here?

Look, people bitching about this bill, are doing the same thing as some asshole breaking a water pipe inside your home, letting the water rush in while doing nothing to stop it, and THEN bitching and moaning at the person trying to find the right parts to fix it.  The people bitching aren't doing shit to stop the flood, and only shit the bed because their going to be inconvenienced from time to time.   Shut the fuck up about it already and secure the fucking border.  Then these fuckers can have their unquestioned freedoms back.  It's a crisis situation, not daily regular doo-da life.  Arizona has asked for federal help for this issue for years, and hasn't gotten shit.  The federal government has acknowledged it's a problem, yet now wants to slap the hands of the people running their own state.  That's bullshit.  But hey, we got healthcare done and GM is lying through their teeth about paying back bail-out money... Fuck priorities...  Someone wants to get himself in the history books, prudence be damned.

3. Lowes.  It's a private business.  A business that caters to many many latinos and yes, probably illegals.  They rely on those sales, and as a retail business that needs to make sales, I don't have an issue with it.   I don't put these type situations in the same catagory as drivers license exams.

It's a matter of priorities, not whether or not some shit needs to be taken care of or not.  I'm so sick of the fucking assertion that if you oppose certain things, you're automatically a simpleton, bigot or uneducated asshole.  My assertion is if you blindly make those assertions, then regardless of how book smart you might be, YOU are the bigot and undeducated person. (that's not aimed at anyone specific here....just a point...)

Just my opinion....

You most definitely gotta have a blueprint before you can "build".

I saw this on three major news outlets today. The story "broke" nationally. We're the laughing stock of the nation, as Taylor predicted.

Okay.  So what "billions" is he referring to?  Just curious.

I know all the Fox News, and all the other stuff is directed and baiting others...

So, I'm just asking...  What "billions" would we lose?  Seriously, I don't know.
