Speaking of stereotyping, and how I shouldn't do it, but yet you do... Let's Talk about Irony.
PS - I don't watch the Daily Show or Colbert Report. And I sure as hell don't watch Fox News.
PPS - Stating that the commercial is stupid and makes Alabama look stupid is not an opinion, it is a fact.
PPPS: Your silly SouthPark clip is typical of the left agenda. It takes a valid argument and spins it into something else entirely. Rather than addressing the legitimate issues, it resorts to an attempt to make anyone who disagrees appear to be an uneducated loon. Not once did I (or anyone else) mention the loss of jobs to hispanics. That's not an issue for me at all. If they are here legitimately and want to work, that's fine with me. I hope that all men and women who desire to better their situation can find employment.
No, AWK, the argument is with the push to require that American goods and services -- particularly those provided by the government -- be delivered in Spanish. Rather than requiring that American citizens learn the English language, our government bends over, spreads its asscheeks and shits out paperwork in a FOREIGN language.
Yes, i have a problem with this. Road signs are written in English. If you are going to pass the written portion of the driver's license exam you should be able to read and write at a functioning level in that language.
I vehemently disagree with the GED being provided in Spanish, French and Portuguese. If you are going to have a high school credential from a US educational facility you should have enough English proficiency to pass the exam in ENGLISH.
While the manner in which Tim delivered his message leaves a little to be desired -- in his attempt to appear studious and thoughtful he instead looked robotic and perhaps mongoloid -- the message itself it 100000000000% correct. The time to draw the line and insist that US citizens have at least a minimal functioning literacy in the English language has long passed.
I will be more inclined to support anyone who has the balls to step forward and promote this stance -- particularly knowing that people like you will be aghast and make disparaging remarks about their intelligence.
In this case -- and I don't often disagree with you -- you've checked your brain at the door.
