Everything was invented there - get over it. Please overlook the fact that they got their statehood in 1845 some 200+ years after the first "right wing extremists" were founded as a national militia (aka - the National Guard 1636). They still invented it.

The only state in the CONUS to have been a sovereign republic prior to joining the United States.  Texans waited and ran things their own way until the rest of the country sorted all that other crap out, then joined when they saw fit...

Texas is no Al Gore.  Texas did not invent the national militia (and actually, our first national militia was formed in 1823, 22 years before statehood) but we sure as hell invented the Texas Ranger.  You can keep your militia.
