I actually saw a bammer walk into a convenient store wearing a "13 Nat'l Championship" t-shirt the other day. It just so happened to be a day that I had a wild hair in my ass, so I asked the guy if bama really had that many championships. He said, " heyall yeeah, Aalaubama is the bomb". He was a white boy.

The college football fans that know facts know that we invented Tiger Walk, which is "the most copied tradition in sports."

http://espn.go.com/page2/s/maisel/031120auburn.html

We also came up with the inter-locking arms thing, which was no one, including us, does anymore, but became wildly popular after we did it in 04.

How about playing Darth Vader's song after 3rd down stops?  Do you lay claim to that one as well?  Were you guys the first ones to sell popcorn at the game?

Sell popcorn?  They invented it.  Then that copycat motherfucking Redenbacher came along and tried to patent that shit, but we (fact knowing college football fans) know better.

Darth was named Bill until he stole the name from Auburn's first popcorn vendor...Darth Smith.

Quote
Tiger Walk

Before each Auburn home football game, thousands of Auburn fans line Donahue Avenue to cheer on the team as they walk from Sewell Hall (the athletes' dormitory) to Jordan-Hare Stadium. The tradition began in the 1960s when groups of kids would walk up the street to greet the team and get autographs. During the tenure of coach Doug Barfield, the coach urged fans to come out and support the team, and thousands did. Auburn is the first known school to conduct an organized procession of players into the stadium. Today the team, led by the coaches, walks down the hill and into the stadium surrounded by fans who pat them on the back and shake their hands as they walk. The largest Tiger Walk occurred on December 2, 1989, before the first ever home football game against rival Alabama—the Iron Bowl. On that day, an estimated 20,000 fans packed the one block section of road leading to the stadium. According to former athletic director David Housel, Tiger Walk has become "the most copied tradition in all of college football."[1] As it grew in popularity, the Tiger Walk has become a fixture for road games. Fans will gather at visiting stadiums and cheer the team on from the busses into the stadium.

Michigan fans would argue that Bump Elliot began this tradition in the 60's a few seasons before the Tiger Walk.

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

Yeah, it turns out I had a couple of years eligibility left.  Apparently I didn't actually register for classes from 2000-2002, so I'm getting to relive my dream!

"So I want everybody to think here for a second, how much does this game mean to you? 'Cause if it means something to you, you can't stand still. You understand? You play fast! You play strong! You go out there and dominate the man you're playing against, and you make his ass quit! That's our trademark! That's our M.O.... as a team! That's what people know us as!" ~ Nick Saban

Wikipedia
1) I already cited ESPN.

2) I will defer to a post I've already made on the Wikipedia bashing.

Wikipedia has this notorious reputation for being incorrect, which is greatly exaggerated and undue. When have you ever seen an incorrect statement on Wikipedia? Yeah, anyone can post anything, but those dumb or inaccurate things are taken down almost instantly.

This study was done 5 years ago, and since then Wikipedia's reliability has only improved.

Study: Wikipedia as accurate as Britannica

Or perhaps a more accurate article  :)
