South Carolina woman dies from head injury caused by rock from Interstate 20 pothole in east Alabama
By Kent Faulk -- The Birmingham News
March 16, 2010, 11:13AM

A South Carolina woman has died after being injured on Interstate 20 Monday night in east Alabama by a rock that flew through her vehicle's windshild.

Jo Maureen Fisher of Goose Creek, S.C., died in this morning in Birmingham, a UAB Hospital spokesman said. She and her husband were on I-20 in Cleburne County when the accident happened, according to Alabama State Troopers.

A truck traveling in front of the Fishers hit a pothole, causing a rock to fly through the vehicle windshield.

The family wanted people to know that Mrs. Fisher was an organ donor, said Troy Goodman, a UAB Hospital spokesman.

Off all the ways to get killed.  Fine example of how crappy our state's highways are.  I can smell a lawsuit.

Interstates are in bad shape for sure.  459 is a fucking joke.  The center lane from 280 to Trussville is a joke.

Didn't BG, from the site that shalt not be named, have his BMW raped by one of those chunks of rocks on 459 a few years back?

I-20 from the Jefferson county line into Irondale at the 459 interchange has huge chunks of asphalt missing. I've seen better roadways in Iraq.

Damn - this makes me think of something that you would see in a shitty Final Destination sequel.  I guess when it's your time, it's your time.

When I traded my old car in a few months ago it had 8 different cracks/nicks where rocks hit the windshield, and every single one of them was on the drivers side.  It looked like someone tried to carjack me with a BB gun.

Bullshit.  Complete fucking bullshit.  That pothole didn't kill anyone.  We all know that potholes are innocent.  They have female southern accents, for Christ's sake!  They wouldn't hurt a fly!

**UPDATE**

Turns out she's not quite dead. She's in critical condition at UAB. Also, the rock was apparently kicked up by a pickup truck travelling in front of her car.

I've got 2 dings in my windshield from this kind of shit. Both of them happened as the result of following a shit wreck of a car. Isn't that the way it usually goes? A broken or chipped windshield that costs more than the vehicle that caused it.

Or some rims that cost as much as a decent used car on a 200 dollar hoopty.  In mobile we have Rent and Roll where you can rent rims like a Aarons.

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

UN Agenda 21 will take care of that, don't you worry. And that woman's accident is part of the Population Reduction Act.

Quote
Security interests

U.S. security interests were seen as threatened by demographic and political realities in lesser-developed countries (LDCs), and the age structure of high-fertility nations with large numbers of young people. Young people were considered a potential threat to multi-national corporations. Revolutionary actions and counter-revolutionary coups in countries with large populations were viewed as posing the danger of expropriation of foreign investments, and creating political or national security problems for the U.S. Also mentioned were racial, ethnic, cultural, and religious factors, where "differential rates of population growth (exists) among these groups."

A major U.S. security interest concerned access to "reserves of higher-grade ores of most minerals," and the terms for exploration and exploitation of those resources. The study advised that civil disturbances affecting the "smooth flow of needed materials" would be less likely to occur "under conditions of slow or zero population growth."

The expression of resistance to global population strategies at the World Population Conference in Bucharest, in August, 1974, created a need to "persuade" LDC leaders to assist in population reduction within the targeted countries. Those objections came from countries wanting to ensure that any "new international economic order" would respect national sovereignty. In addition, "There was general consternation ... when at the beginning of the conference the (World Population Plan of Action) was subjected to a slashing, five-pronged attack led by Algeria, with the backing of several African countries; Argentina, supported by Uruguay, Brazil, Peru, and ... some other Latin American countries; the Eastern European group, less Romania; the PRC and the Holy See" (86-87).

**UPDATE TO THE UPDATE**

Turns out she died after all. Al.com can't get their shit straight.

What is the state's response? Fix the pot holes? Fuck no! They're dropping the speed limit to 55 from Oxford to the Georgia state line (roughly 35 miles) and increasing trooper coverage to ensure compliance. So in other words, they're setting up a speed trap.

Bravo, Bingo Bob, bravo! If you'd spent half the money you squandered on that anti-bingo task force, the highway department could have filled every pot hole along that stretch of road. Fuck you, you Bettye Fine Collins loving hypocrite. You're personally ensuring Artur Davis gets elected governor.

I can smell a lawsuit.

What if the truck had a sticker that said "Not responsible for broken windshields"? Would that include the bits of windshield embedded into the woman's frontal lobe?
