Jay Leno is a hair pie, and NBC is run by a bunch of douchebags.

I don't see how Conan added anything to that other than following Robin Williams' lead.  Am I missing something?

His show is funny, he is appreciated by people with a sense of humor, and he did an Irish Jig with Robin Williams while he flicked off the NBC executives and told them to go fuck themselves.

I understand your opinion, but humor on late night talk shows has faded fast over the last 15-20 years.  I just think this whole argument goes back to... how could NBC continue to let Conan host Tonight when his ratings have been significantly lower than Leno's as the host?  NBC screwed up at the start of this.

Well, let's see.  Because they jammed Leno in front of him and never gave him the opportunity to succeed or fail with out that lantern-headed fuck looming over his shoulder?

Fuck Leno.  I won't watch a minute of his show, ever.

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

I really have to say with firm conviction, that if you prefer Leno to Conan, you either have no sense of humor, or the one you have is mundane.

Neither are great. But Conan does have a witty dry humor that one needs a modicum of intelligence to understand. Carson was the same way. Except that Carson was just naturally gifted. He found his true calling and excelled at it. All of the others look like they are working.

Five statements of WISDOM
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friends, is the beginning of the end of any nation.

Agreed. This is akin to musings of the greatness of tha Bahr.

It shouldn't even be relevant to the conversation. Unless you suggest planting his carcass behind the desk, he is not a candidate to host the Tonight Show.

Dave can be amusing.  He's gradually grown stale, but if you did the same thing for 50 years wouldn't you?

I don't like how Dave decided to interject his goofy ass political views into the show.  He's a retard when it comes to that.

Carson couldn't carry Jack Paar's jock strap...or Steve Allen's for that matter...

Agreed with you there.  I used to watch his show quite often until the political goofiness blossomed.  Carson did make political jokes but nobody was sacrosanct with him.

Honestly, late night programs really died with Carson.

Not if you're good...  Letterman's first show was pretty sucky...  I remember...

This is silly.  We're attempting to argue levels of mediocrity here.  It's like comparing Jimmy Carter and Barry O'bama.  They both suck.
