After staying up WAY too late last night watching the returns I was very alarmed at the following figures which are total votes cast in 21 states holding primaries or caucuses yesterday (according to RealClearPolitics.com and Time):
Total Democrat Votes: 14,622,822 (Clinton and Obama combined)
Total Republican Votes: 8,370,022 (McCain, Huckabee, and Romney combined)
The primaries leading up to Super Tuesday had much better parity among voters with the Democrats generally holding a slight lead.
Could this be a harbinger of bad news for the Republican candidate this fall? I'm thinking that it might be but there are still a lot of variables to consider chiefly whether or not Clinton gets the nomination and who her running mate will be; not to mention who will be McCain's running mate (yes I am predicting, unfortunately, that he will get the Republican nomination).
What dismal choices we have...I think I'm voting for "Bill the Cat and Opus" this Fall...or possibly "Uncle Ruckus"!
