Go back to the start of the season and every Bama fan I knew had La. Tech whipping Auburn's ass.
Not this Alabama fan. Even with Prowler maintaining his argument that La Tech was a good team and a quality opponent for AU, I told him they sucked and Auburn should tap that ass. Anything less would have been an epic fail.

You are correct. But many others thought Tech was formitable enough to say it.

Agree. I admit I geeked out over this play too. It worked against more than just La. Tech. Ask Bama's corner who's still receiving treatments for the burn.

Ain't gonna be Troy Calhoun per WMSP in Montgomery.  He says he's staying at AFA.

Pretty much the only viable options are Vince Dooley and Syracuse's coach.....can't remember his name. Wow. UT fans cannot be happy about this. Like I said before, I just hope they realize the situation they are in and take the hire for what it is.....

Cutcliffe will probably be it now.

And this is exactly why I'm surprised to hear about Dooley again.  The reason things were hyped is because they had gone 8-5 the year before.

But, with all those players back and some higher hopes....they went an ugly 4-8.  Even with losses to Auburn, LSU, Boise, and Navy...they still lost to Idaho and Utah State, two teams they should have beaten.  They also should have gotten a split with Fresno and Nevada.

Quote from Troy Calhoun

Quote
“We are more than grateful and proud to be closely involved with the character building of our cadets and the mission of the United States Air Force Academy.  We are diligently recruiting and working with our team to prepare for the upcoming season.  We look forward to coaching and being a part of the Air Force Academy team both on and off the field in 2010.”  - Troy Calhoun, Air Force head football coach.

Wow, how bad do you have to feel if you are UT?  Can't even snipe a coach away from AFA.

Why not throw $3.5 million at Peterson from Boise?

Part of the reason he's never left is because people talk $2 million to him, thinking they are doubling his salary and surely he'll listen.  Someone will have to more than double his salary to drag him away from the paradise he has going (guaranteed 10-13 wins and BCS hopes every year).

But why not triple his salary?  I think he's probably worth it....more so than Muschamp.

If I'm a UT fan, Cutcliffe isn't sounding so bad compared to some of the names being thrown around.

If I'm a UT fan, I'm hoping they hire Phil back for a one year HC deal and then transition to AD. This is a clusterfuck.

My thoughts on Petersen too. He gets slighted into remaining at Boise but if Tennessee doesn't hire a perceived heavyweight, Cutcliffe is their best bet as far as securing recruits, eliminating thuggery and competing at this level.

Hamilton just needs to snub a minority candidate and it'll be the clusterfuck coaching search of all time.

There is a thread on VolNation wondering if Saban would go to UT for $10 million a year.

Does Bama get minority credits for hiring Saban? AU didn't for Terry Bowden.

Per ESPN, Norm Chow will remain at UCLA. Supposedly Kiffin wasn't all that keen on hiring him, but the AD absolutely demanded the hire. Either way, if I'm Norm Chow, I don't even want to be associated with this cluster fuck.

What on God's Green Earth is the hold up on announcing Gary Patterson as the head coach at UT?
And why was he not their first or second choice along with Will "BMF" Muschamp?
