Meyer's resignation makes Alabama's domination more likely

It took Nick Saban three years to catch and pass Urban Meyer as the alpha male among SEC football coaches.  Saban's won 25 of the last 27 games.  Having just won the SEC Championships and soon to play for the National Championship how can you possibly see this statement as anything other than true.  That you just don't like it that much doesn't make it less accurate.

Now, given Meyer's sudden and shocking resignation as the Florida head coach, due to health reasons, who's going to stop Saban and Alabama from dominating the league for a decade as Bear Bryant and Alabama did in the 1970s?  He asked a question,  If you can't think of a Coach's name to answer it with then maybe he's on to something, no?

Florida is the program best-equipped to challenge Alabama for SEC supremacy, but only when the Gators have the right man running the show.  True, Florida is the most equipped.  True, they have to have the right man as the Head Coach.  If anybody should know this you'd think it'd be you as an Auburn fan.  Seriously.

Steve Spurrier was the right man. So was Meyer.  True.  True.

Ron Zook, not so much.  True.

Now the best AD in the business, Jeremy Foley, has to live up to that billing by hiring another Meyer rather than the next Zook.  True.  Not a bold statement but, yes, he has to make a good hire rather than a bad hire.

Don't be surprised if Foley makes another run at Oklahoma's Bob Stoops, a former Florida defensive coordinator under Spurrier.  Don't be surprised, Kaos.

Scarby didn't say a damn thing.  He never says anything.

He didn't write an article claiming Bama was going to dominate.  He didn't write an article claiming Florida was going to fall off the earth or make another good hire and remain dominant.

He did what he always does.  He toes the line, puts together a "completed" article, and hits the publish button. 

That's why I don't like him.  He rarely says anything.  No statements.  No beliefs.  His column should be titled "Hey, Think About This!" 

As for the notion that Bama could dominate like Bear Bryant?  Um, no.  Just like Meyer couldn't do it.  Just like LSU couldn't do it.  Teams get hot, and the other teams put together their program to make a run.  I promise there will be another powerhouse in the SEC within the next two years, and I'm sure that team's home media will be claiming it will dominate for an entire decade.
