Should Alabama be ineligible for the coaches poll, hence out of BCS Championship?
December 10th, 2009 by Vince Mullins

It appears that either the USA Today Coaches poll members must re-vote in order to recalculate the final BCS standings, OR The National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame, Inc. should move up the University Cincinnati’s football team to play the University of Texas football team in the BCS Championship game.

At the bottom of the AFCA page with the Coaches Votes it specifically states:

“The AFCA prohibits coaches from voting for schools on major NCAA probation.”

http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/football/usatpoll.htm

And I think it is very clear they are on “major” probation due to a textbook scandal.

http://www.ncaa.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/061109aaa.html

Even though they appealed, the infractions are not set aside per below NCAA Bylaw:

32.10.2 – Determinations of fact and violations arrived at by the Committee on Infractions shall not be set aside on appeal.

http://www.ncaapublications.com/Uploads/PDF/2007-08_d1_manual8716ea01-9388-4d68-bb93-2b6ff5ba2e36.pdf

Based on these circumstances, the University of Alabama football team is required to receive 0 (zero) points from the USA Today Coaches poll, giving them a recalculated BCS average of 0.6656, thus moving them down to number 8 on the BCS final standings:

http://msn.foxsports.com/id/10485922_37_1.pdf

http://www.fantasycollegeblitz.com/should-alabama-be-ineligible-for-the-coaches-poll-hence-out-of-bcs-championship/

Do Major Violations mean Major Probation, especially in the Repeat-Repeat Offender window?

As I have stated many many times I fucking hate the color crimson and all it entails. However this reeks of the same morons who are after Obama's birth certificate, bush's military records and those goobs who believe they do not have to pay taxes. While it would be great if it was really a chance then wooohoooo!!!! but since there is no way in hell that they will ever enforce this then it looks like Auburn is crying in our beer once again.
Grow up, accept the fact that we have work to do and quit hunting for legal technicalities. A true Auburn man wins it on the field and does not rely on candy assed lawyers (present board member candy assed lawyers not included) to take care of business.

Unbelievably I couldn't agree more.

Obviously this is the kind of thing that a program is aware of when sanctions are handed down.  Whether you can get votes in a poll or not is not the kind of thing that you just "find out" one day before your bowl game.  Part of "major violations" can be a post season ban, but that's not an automatic with major violations, it's something that is specified in the sanctions as a result of those violations (see Auburn 1993...no TV, no post season....both specifically handed down).

It's embarrassing to see someone pushing that "honest question".

Prowler is just a bitch, an internet tough guy who bounces from forum to forum looking for something, anything to increase his need to be in Auburn circles.
This is the kind of Bullshit squadoosh that they find on a regular basis. This is whiney assed crybaby gene motherfuckin' chizik feel good ass balm to help cover up the sting of being beat. Period.
They are going to the "mythical" and "declared" national championship game and we meanwhile are going to go Tampa to a bowl game where our AD BRAGGED about politicking to get us in.
Allow me to hang my head in our disgrace and shame.
Yeah we are playing on Jan 1 but we had to beg to get the worst fucking slot of the day. Auburn is not a school that begs, we are not a school that giggles over technicalities giving our enemies a black eye. We man up and line and knock their dicks into the dirt.
You want to know a little secret? I gave up on the board here at the X before the Bama/Fla game. Instead of discussing the game like men who were planning on casually beating the fuckballs out of those two teams next year everybody's name got flipped to some pro-Florida sounding piece of swill. (Except for our resident bammers...that was and still is hilarious  kiss my  :moon: stupid bama fat sister fuckers.) That was a severe low point for this forum and something true Auburn faithful want no part of.

First off greaseybammer, wanna find out if I'm just a "internet tough guy"?  Secondly, I don't go looking for anything, whenever something is emailed to me and I feel that it would make an interesting topic on The X, I post it.  Whatever you do with it afterwards is your choice.  Another thing, who's saying that the article is coming from Auburn?  Hell if anything, it's more than likely coming from a Bearcat...but, oh well, don't let realistic probablities come into play whenever thinking about something to write.  Also, greaseybammer, I know that it pains you to watch as Auburn is preparing to go to a pretty big bowl game....I'm sure that you would've absolutely loved it if Auburn wasn't going bowling or if Auburn was going to a shitty bowl (Papa Johns).  But, Auburn has disappointed you again and done better than you would've ever thought.  Here's a suggestion, greaseybammer, keep thinking the worse will happen to Auburn....that seems to be working out so far, LMAO.

Let me explain a few things to you on how the world works big brainless. When something is e-mailed to you the first thing you need to consider before you post it and wake up with day old cum on your chin is "does this make even the least bit of fuckin' sense?". But nooooo its a chance for you to jump on here with a fairly intelligent topic (in your view) that the Auburn family will jump on and while hoisting you on our shoulders singing your praises because you gave us the magic bullet to finally do them in.
Am I glad that we are playing in a New Years day bowl? Well I guess I was not clear that yes I am. Am I proud that our AD jumped into interview after interview patting himself on the back for "politicking" our way into it. Fuck that if you have to do it then you do the politicking but keep your mouth shut about it. Auburn needs to get into big huge bowls based on our own merits not because JJ out begged Georgia and Tennessee.
But for a "fan" who sees that piece of waa-waa journalism that you cut pasted and linked to to start this thread off with I guess that bragging that you begged is a great thing.
Your not an internet tough guy, your just a dumbfuck.

Seriously though, Prowler, you are a dumbass. Oklahoma is still on probation for two players involved in a pay-for-play deal with a booster. They were put on probation in July of 07, and will be on probation until 2011. Where were you crying last season?

After this first post had gone through, he slowly regained his energy, until finally he was bouncing around in his chair like the idiot he is as he furiously banged out that second post. Wiped the sweat off his brow and took a huge sigh of relief. All was right again. All was right.

Yeah, asshole, but part of being an Auburn person is hating bammer and everything associated with it, and that includes pulling like hell for whomever is playing those fuckers.  I would be willing to bet you that had Florida been playing Arkansas or LSU or any other West team other than bammer, there would have been no change.  For the record, we made the same change last year too.  Auburn did not have a game that weekend, so it's not like we were all overlooking anything Auburn in favor of Florida, and as soon as the game was over, we all changed back.

Plus, it was fun.  You know, FUN, as in "for amusement".  Get that stick out of your ass, and lighten up, Francis.
