Do you seriously want to know why Evan Doucheberry is writing articles about Trooper Taylor or Gus being under consideration for the Memphis job?
Because he is a bama graduate and a turd at heart. He still breathes and bleeds crimson and laughs every day that he makes money off us stupid rubes who he hates passionately.
The only purpose of attaching their names to that or any job is to damage recruiting. To give rivals a piece of paper they can wave in front of recruits noses and plant the seed that the coach recruiting them might not be there for even their first season. Bama doesn't care if they go to LSU or Florida or Tennessee, their primary mission is to make sure Auburn knows its place first. It's a carryover from the Bear days of doing everything possible to make sure Auburn didn't get the good players whether that meant signing 400 kids or threatening their parent's jobs (which happened then and happens now).

You know what Coach Andy Lutz told me and two other guys a few years ago? The hardest thing to recruit against is rumors.
Kids get told a thousand things on the recruiting trail. Whether it's from their own coaches, other schools' coaches, boosters, media guys, writers for Rivals/Scout, other players, etc; they are given a plethora of information. They have to sort through all of it and make the best decision.
Do you ever hear a Bama coach or LSU coach selling their school over the football program or coaching staff? I can't think of any instances. Auburn HAS to sell Auburn. It's futile to sell the coaching staff because Bama tries their damndest to sour our head coach's reputation.
Malzahn and Taylor (more than likely Malzahn before Taylor) will get their gigs when they get offered. They'll take a better job opportunity, and you can't blame them for it. The problem is, until they actually receive a decent offer, we'll be fighting the rumors.
