Swine Flu hits close to home
« on: November 02, 2009, 04:27:58 PM »
Our 46 year old director of Wireline Services died Saturday morning of pneumonia brought on by H1N1.  He was married with three kids.  He was a great guy and will be sorely missed in this company.

So glad I got the kids their H1N1 vaccinations last week.

No problems with the swine yet, but I did notice that my yard and house was attacked by ladybugs today.  They are still swarming.

I hope those little bastards aren't carrying any diseases.

No.  Not one.  Second person I have heard of that died from pneumonia.  Stuff settles into your lungs and you are done.  First person I actually knew myself though.

our town of 30 k has been a hot spot for the H1N1.  a middle aged man died from complications as a result of the H1N1.  560 of the 2000 high school students called in sick the week before last.

last week, my wife had a temperature of 102 for three days.  she went to the doctor.  the doctor said it's probably the H1N1.  they're not testing for it, so we won't know for sure.   we were shut-ins for 4 days.  the doctor gave my kids and me prescriptions for tami-flu.  i ended up going to three pharmacies before getting them filled. our kids received their H1N1 vaccinations just before my wife got sick.

i ended up going to wal-mart for juice, gatorade and other supplies.  i've not been to wal-mart since last spring. also, i didn't see any "sonic boom" promos.

My boss got pneumonia after having H1N1 a few weeks ago.  He's back to work now, but still has complications.  That shit is no joke.

I had it two months ago.  It's a bitch, but if you don't let it go rampant on your ass you'll be fine.

It's not any WORSE of a flu, it's just more persistent of a strain, and because you're contagious way longer than a normal flu, it spreads more.

Had a 101 fever for 3 days straight, (my normal temp is around 96-97) so I feel your wife's pain, Chinook.
