The Chiz is sticking with Todd at QB as per...

I don't understand this decision. Seems like he should at least give Caudle a chance in the Old Piss game.

Auburn sticks with Chris Todd at quarterback
By Charles Goldberg -- The Birmingham News
October 25, 2009, 5:23PM

Gene Chizik
Chris Todd will remain Auburn's quarterback.

That's the word from coach Gene Chizik on Sunday following Saturday's offensively-challenged 31-10 loss to LSU.

``We're not going to make a change this week,' Chizik said. ``After going back and looking at it, we would have loved for the offensive production to be better. But we're in the month of October and we're going against much tougher competition. We're at the point we have to execute better.

``We still think Chris gives us the best chance to win. It's not like our offense hasn't done it. We have.''

Todd hit 8-of-14 passes for 47 yards against LSU.

``It's not every play, but right now, we're not producing at the level to win these tough football games,'' Chizik said.

Chizik said teams are catching up with the offense. He said it's natural.

"When you get to game seven, eight and nine, they have all your film, and everybody has a good idea what everybody is doing.''

"We have talked in depth on things we need to look at offensively as a whole,'' Chizik said. He said he and offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn have discussed changes, "but it wasn't specifically related to one guy.''

In his first news conference as AUBURN'S head coach in 1981, Pat Dye was asked this question:  "How long will it take you to beat Alabama"?  To which he responded, "Oh, about 60 minutes".

I know this has been said before, but Chris Todd is mindfucked. Something happened at Arkansas and it seems like he lost all confidence, field vision and arm strength.
On the one handed interception he threw to the safety, it seemed like he wanted to stop mid-throw because he just caught sight of the safety coming up.

Caudle did look poised against the scrub defense they put in, but at this point of the season, why not give Caudle the start? The backup QB is always the most popular player on the team. And, could it get any worse?

I am coming back for this game; I am not looking forward to it. Arky last year and Ole miss this year. I support Auburn as much as I can, but this is starting to become a beat down, I can stay here in Dallas and watch them lose, and save a couple of thousand dollars.

This is the only thing that could conceivably cost Chizik his job.  When the money stops coming.

This really puts me (and all fans) in a catch 22. We want to support, but damn at what cost?

This is not saying that Caudle is better (The #2 QB always the most popular and all that) But, QB play can't get any worse right now.  It just can't.  Why not at least give Caudle the reps against big time opponents?  Caudle will be here next year competing for the starting job.  Toad won't!!

This season is over save for a monumental win vs. FU and a trip to Shreveport against the Akron Zips.  What exactly is the problem with getting the guy who just may be your starter next year some valuable playing time?

This really puts me (and all fans) in a catch 22. We want to support, but damn at what cost?

In reality, this is where GW was in January.  If you continue to give money and show up when the product is bad, what impetus is there for people who matter to make changes.  The only voice Auburn fans have is our wallets.

Do I love Auburn?  Damn straight I do.  It's right there in the God, Family, Country mix.   There are only four things that can bring tears to my eyes:  Deep spiritiual meaning, watching my kids succeed, hearing a stadium full of people singing God Bless America or the Star Spangled Banner, watching the eagle fly at Auburn (or hearing the alma mater, which is curious because I don't have that piece of paper that gives me that right).

But if I keep buying gear, keep contributing, keep buying tickets, keep showing up and spending money how can I express any dissatisfaction I might have with the administration in any meaningful way?

It is a Catch 22.  Those kids who put on the orange and blue didn't ask to be put in this situation. It's not THEIR fault.  Even when they suck (Chris Todd) it's really not their fault.

If you went to the UK game, you knew we were in trouble from the start.  They released the eagle from the press box side and she dropped like a rock.  No flight...no circling....just, "Oh, a mouse"

It brought tears to my eyes too.
