I've never been big on complaining about the refs. Usually bad calls tend to work themselves out, and home teams typically get the calls. That said, the three horrible calls at the end of the game, by the same crew the screwed up the LSU-Ga game, should draw some kind of league action.
Even so, we still could have won the game if our "special" team weren't so pathetic.
My thoughts on the rest of the experience:
1. I didn't really see a lot of tailgating around the stadium, was kind of surprised.
2. Florida had a pretty cool pep rally Friday night called Gator Growl, probably 50,000+ there. It was pretty impressive. Would have been more impressive, except one of the headliners was Dana Carvey, and he had used almost all of the same jokes about 3 nights before on Leno's show.
3. Florida's stadium is big and loud when they want to be. Lots of piped in music on the PA, which I think is kind of annoying. They have pretty weak cheers.
4. Florida's pregame program sucks. Nowhere nearly as good as ours, or as Auburn's, which I think is pretty cool. Basically they play the alma mater and the National Anthem in the shape of the state of Florida, then play some of the music over the PA mentioned above.
5. I would love to be in the Florida band. They play about 4 songs a game. I couldn't believe they played music over the PA while the band sat on the field and did nothing. I understand there are times when you need the PA music. When the band scrambles off the field and they are not ready to start the game yet, is the perfect time. Also, after halftime, when the band is getting their break. Otherwise, I think it is stupid.
6. Someone in the Fayetteville police department needs to go to Gainesville and study how they get traffic out after a ballgame. They don't have any bigger roads or freeways than Fayetteville has, and they manage to get people out of there fairly quickly.
7. Had a good time, everyone was very polite and friendly. No bad experiences with asshole fans. I expected a lot worse and was pleasantly surprised.
8. Not nearly as many hotties as the last time I went. It was a little cold, so maybe that had something to do with it.
