Really? Seriously? If you think Dyer couldn't beat out what you guys have on campus, you are delusional. Don't get me wrong, Wingo is a pretty good back. But if you think Dyer wouldn't see some significant PT as a true frosh, you're crazy. Arkansas has one of the worst rushing offenses in the SEC.
It's not the back's fault. When the OL doesn't always do their job and the backs have to block, they don't get many carries. We're OK there, yall will see in the future.

I can promise you that none of the backs Arky has now will be considered a "top" or "premier" back in the SEC during their collegiate careers. I don't expect you to be down on your team or anything, but you are truly delusional about the level of talent at Arkansas if you think Dyer couldn't come in and contribute immediately. I also guarantee you that Arkansas will not have such a back while Petrino is there. If you think Arky wouldn't take him right this second, you are insane.

I think so. Think about it. We've been using our 3rd (Upchurch) and 4th (Grant) team running backs in the mix this season. I see Dyer getting some pretty good PT if he came to Alabama. CNS likes to pound the ball if he can, and he likes to do it with alot of different backs (fresh legs). When we play 3-4 different RBs in a game, yeah, I can see Dyer making a good contribution. I certainly don't think he would top Ingram, but I think he would come in right with Richardson. This is why I really think boartitz is being delusional that Dyer wouldn't get many touches at Arkansas. If the guy could walk into Alabama and see some PT his freshman year, he sure as hell is better than what Arkansas has on campus.

Thats not being cocky, thats the truth. I know it pains you to admit that Alabama might be good at something, or might have good players, but we do have one of the better groups of RBs in the SEC. They haven't put up numbers like they did last year, but its close. When you factor in our OL isn't near what it was last season, and we're passing ALOT more this season, the RBs are still doing a good job.

How exactly is it untrue that Alabama's RBs are head and shoulders better than Arkansas'? How is that statement cocky? Seriously, who would you want at AU.....Smith or Ingram? Wingo or Richardson?

Dyer is the #3 rated RB in this years class.
If he comes to Arkansas, this is what he is following, with their ranking coming out of high school.
Wingo-#9 Ath
Davis-#17 RB
Curtis-#6 RB
Green-#14 RB
Yeah, like I said, I'd take him. He's looking for playing time. There is not as much competition at Auburn for a spot next year. Argue that.

I can almost guess what your answer will be since Dyer is going to AU, but can you honestly see a freshman Dyer jumping a junior Ingram as our #1 back? Mind you, he would see some significant PT even as #2 with Richardson. I don't really see what argument you could possibly have that says that scenario would happen. I think he could easily jump Upchurch and Grant. I think he would be right there with Richardson. I just don't see him knocking Ingram from his #1 spot. Thats not even a knock on Dyer.

Believe whatever you want. Dyer would be better than what Arkansas has on campus right now. Earlier you talked about his measurables, but hell, your starting RB is 5'9" 180 lbs. Dyer is 5'8" and 201 lbs of solid rock. He is built like a brick shithouse and he is a truly elite player, but oh, he wouldn't crack the rotation at Arkansas? Bullshit.

Where did I say he wouldn't crack the rotation? Don't put words in my mouth to fortify your opinion.
He would most certainly play at Arkansas next year. We're playing 2 freshmen this year. I'm saying he wouldn't get the touches at Arkansas next year that he probably will at Auburn.
His main competition at Auburn next year will be McCalebb. I feel like Dyer would be the #2 back at Auburn to start next season at worst. He wants to be the featured back, not part of a committee.

Lets go back.....

Quote
Too much in front of him at Arkansas.

Quote
We have him covered size and speedwise. He would be our smallest running back and not our fastest. I'd like for him to be a hog, but RB is one spot we are loaded on for this year and next year without signing anyone. We need some defensive players this time around.

Quote
First time that we have been set like this in the last decade.

Quote
Bobby just got some good RBs his first 2 classes. We have some breathing room at that position. We need some defensive players now.

Those quotes certainly imply that he wouldn't be getting much PT at all. Thats fine that you want to say he would get more touches at AU. Probably so. But to imply that its not a big deal because Arky has so much talent ahead of him and he wouldn't share in the rotation much? Bullshit.

That's exactly what the quotes imply. Not that he wouldn't crack the rotation. Our freshmen this year cracked the rotation. Are they getting feature back touches? No. Same deal next year. Whoever we get as a running back, if we sign one at all.
If you want to argue, at least try to comprehend what I am saying first. It's all there in black and white.
