Craig Sanders....

Craig Sanders....
« on: September 30, 2009, 05:01:13 PM »
might have decommitted from Alabama today and Committed to Auburn...

This is a quote from an email to Andrew Bone of BOL...

Quote
"He has had a lot of mixed feelings about rushing in the commitment to Alabama. Trying to please friends and family when he wasn't happy himself."

"He and his family have prayed very hard about it, and he has decided to decommit from Alabama. He has decided that he wants to go to school at Auburn."

Still waiting for all the official hooplah to come out, but this could be a real steal!

Exactly....at the very millisecond that "send" was pushed for that email, Saban pushed "send" on an email that was written months ago that said, "Craig, son, we've decided to go in another direction, and feel that you would likely never play here at Alabama, a'ight".

Oh the hilarity...

"Sounds good to me. We have a couple of other early commitments IMO who probably need to decommit as well. IMO the staff has surprised itself with its ability to reach outside of our usual recruiting region to pull major recruits. With the new cap of 28, they have to be extremely picky."

"We've got higher rated players lining up to commit to Alabama.  We're going to wait until closer to signing day to accept commitments."

"Good stuff. Finally getting more room in our class."

"He would have been buried on the depth chart at Bama...smart move by him."

"Most of the ones who said Craig Sanders was the best Dline prospect since Reggie White got laughed off of BOL when he was being recruited. When he was being recruited i'd venture to say 80% of BOL said he was overrated."

"We needed a JACK in this class. CS really wanted to come to Bama. Feeling unsure of our other targets, we accepted his commitment. Then things turned in our favor with Alfy Hill, who was our top JACK prospect in this class, so CNS told CS we would honor his commitment, but he should look for his best opportunity, and that might be somewhere else. Spin it any way you want, but this is the real story."

ESPN has him rated a little bit lower, but still pretty high (a 79, which is one point from being a 4-star for them).

His offer list is pretty strong.  Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Tennessee, etc.

Rivals has him as the #12 DE and #7 player in Alabama.

If he were to switch, that would give both Auburn and Alabama 3 commits from the top 7 in the state (the other went to LSU).  It would also mean Auburn and Alabama both have 5 of the top 15 in the state (CJ Mosley would give Alabama 6).  But either way, that's about as even as it ever gets for in-state talent.

I love how people feel confident to say "coach Saban told him....blah, blah, blah", as if anyone on a board heard Saban say anything other than "RWS stop licking my ass...a'ight".

Hill is he only other DE in their class as of now, and the only other two DEs considering Alabama are a guy from Oregon (maybe a long shot to go to the southeast), and a guy in Mississippi that has Alabama as #4 on his list behind Ole Miss, Miss State, Baylor, and even Southern Miss.

There is no way they would encourage Sanders to seek another home.  He may be an Auburn person down deep inside, and if he is, he just can't deny it....he would never be happy there.  We'll see.

BOOM MUTHA FUCKA!!!!!!!

Quote
The University of Alabama football program lost their second commitment of the class of 2010 when Ariton defensive end Craig Sanders let Tide Coach Nick Saban aware of his intentions to decommit on Wednesday.

"We sent Coach Saban a certified letter Tuesday and from what we understand they got it today," said Sanders mother Dianne Grice. "The whole thing is, Craig got rushed into this decision. I think he was trying to make his friends, coaches and family happy, but he wasn't making Craig happy. This is a life decision and I think the more time that passed, he felt less comfortable about the commitment to Alabama."

Sanders's stepfather, David Grice, indicated that playing time was a likely factor in the decision to decommit.

"I think Craig was looking at Alabama's depth chart and figured they were pretty loaded there. It isn't anything against Alabama at all. They handled Craig and everything about his recruitment first-class, but Auburn stayed on him and stayed on him and that just got him thinking about other options."

According to Dianne Grice, Sanders will likely let his intentions be known to the Auburn coaching staff soon that he will be pledging to the Tigers.

Rut Roe...that's two decommitment

Watch out for Corey Grant to possibly follow Jawun James' AND Craig Sander's lead....Has the Hurricane Warning Sirens started going off?  I heard the guy on the Jox recruiting show state that there will be decommitment(s) off of the SPuat recruiting class.  BTW, even if Corey Grant follows JJ's and CS's lead, SPuat will still be 3 over the 85 limit already, if the remaining players were to sign right now.

Did you read the article? It says he is most likely not going to Alabama because the tide is too loaded on defense. Auburn by default should at least have a top ten year in recruiting because they can offer the same thing Alabama could two years ago. Playing time!

So, basically, Coach midget wasn't a great recruiter two years ago and the only reason why they landed a Top 5 recruiting class was because they could offer immediate playing time?  Very interesting....I'm betting the mouthbreathers will be here to spin this.

We'll hear one of two things:

Either 1) I haven't heard anyone say this. No one is saying this. These are not the droids you are looking for.

Or 2) They will agree and try to justify the position.

Either way, I look forward to a good laugh.

Reminds me of my high school days. We had 5 guys go out for the team, but we kicked ass. Won our region and advanced to the state semi finals. We were upset by Homewood, 21-20, on a last second field goal. They had like 250 guys on their team.
