If I'm the OC of our opponents, I'm calling quick screens to the WRs and short 5 to 10 yard outs all game long. It just seemed to me like we really weren't "in to" the game. Even on the long passes and the long runs, it just seemed like we were just going through the motions. Would playing at home for the fourth straight game, kinda take the homefield advantage out of it?
The whole day was just flat yesterday. I wasn't at TigerWalk, but it was flat all day. Everything from the drab and wet weather, to wet conditions and wearing rain gear. The corner gathering of the band down in front of the stadium was embarassing. Usually a good place to get hyped up, the cheerleaders, band, people ALLL seemed to be just going through the motions. Then the first ten minutes... Just more of the same...
I'm not reading too much into this game. I'm not necessarily pleased, but there just wasn't ANY energy or excitement in any phase of the total package last night. Except for a collection of big plays, but that's going to have to work vs. someone better than Ball State before I start bragging about it.
Shoot, even Nova (the golden eagle) took a "let's just get this shit overwith" route to his mid-field snack last night.
At least we walked out with a win.. We're 4-0 and no doubt they'll be hyped up to play the Cheetos from Tennesse next week.
