HDN has some annoying habits, but he knows some football.  I am glad we have Petrino, but everyone expecting Ole Miss to fall on their faces is probably going to be disappointed.

BTW, I said earlier and still believe Auburn wins 7 if they stay healthy.

I don't understand this article predicting 'bama to go 12-1.  I just don't see it.  I think they lose at least 4, starting with the opener.

The current line on the Iron Bowl (Sportsbook.com) is Auburn +5.  They don't list and O/U for total wins, but if they did I think it would be much higher than 3.

Alabama will not go 12-1. I think they will drop three, the opener w Va Tech, lsu, and then to some mystery guest.

Their defense will be as good as any around, no way around that....but there will more than one hitch in that offense.

The chizik clown posse is expecting to lose this year and expecting it to be a regular thing.
That is why they have constantly harped that they have (no) talented players and that there is no depth due to the fact that they have not got enough scholly players.

For those who unfortunately read this last night I apologize. I had just been with good friends toasting the memory of a damn fine friend who left behind a couple of wonderful kids and a true lady of a wife. I was drunk, too drunk and emotional to be posting on here or anywhere.
Hell I wrote it and it didn't make sense to me.
The untimely death of a friend and the start of the football season with a moron at the helm is just more than I could stand last night.
Soon the pain of a friends death will go away and chizik and his clown troupe will get into their elongated coach mobile and leave Auburn to repair their damage.
Life will one day be good again.
Again I apologize for sounding like prowler trying to post an original thought last night.

This kind of thinking makes me physically ill.  And no, Ranger, it's not directed solely at you.  Others share this same sentiment. 

phuk being the underdog and the come-from-behind kid.  I'd rather be the bully on the block who kicks ass and takes names. I'd rather be expected to win everything every year because you start out higher at the beginning and don't fall as far when you lose a couple (USC, Florida, Texas, etc.)

How'd being the underdog work out in 2004?  Yeah we won some games, but we were so far down the list to start that nothing we could do would get us over the hump. 

"I like being the underdog, I like being counted out, I like flying under the radar"  Every bit of it is LOSER talk.  And I hate it. 


And BZZZ?  Laughing at the prospect of losing to La. Tech like it could never happen?  Bad karma for one, completely wrong for another.  We don't know what we've got.  We have anything like the clusterphuks Chizik fielded at ISU -- and please spare me the talent and population comparisons -- and losing isn't only possible, it's likely. 

You misunderstand me a little. I didn't say I like it being like that, which is why I concluded by saying I hope CGC could change that bad habit we seem to have of underachieving when we are predicted to be a contender. I thought that last part would have made it clear that I don't like being the underdog all the time.

I would rather be the big dog that everybody is gunning for every year also. However, given last year's debacle, what some "expert" predicts us to do this year really should not matter much at all. Like I said, in the past we have did well when counted out, so I say lets just do it again.
