Quote
AUBURN -- Sophomore running back Eric Smith was arrested for disorderly conduct early this morning after an incident at an Auburn hotel.

Smith, 19, was arrested at 1:42 a.m. and transported to the Lee County Detention Center, according to Auburn police Capt. Tom Stofer. The incident occurred at the Lexington Hotel, which is a few miles south of downtown Auburn on South College Street. Stofer said no other details of the arrest were immediately available. A redacted copy of the arrest report provided to the Press-Register said Smith was sober and did not resist arrest.

A native of Seffner, Fla., Smith is expected to get significant playing time behind Ben Tate in Auburn's backfield. He played in 12 games and rushed for 83 yards as a true freshman in 2008.

Auburn coach Gene Chizik is scheduled to meet with reporters later this afternoon after Auburn's practice.
At least he wasn't drunk, and didn't resist arrest. Which is more than I can say for a few of our guys. Its like alot of folks say, nothing good ever happens after midnight.

It will be interesting to see what kind of punishment he will receive...assuming we hear the actual facts of the matter.

Shut the hell up you dumb whore.  shiitake.  Try letting the damn barners comment on this instead of diverting the entire damn thing based on your stupid ass behavior.  Now instead of quietly reading each comment while enjoying the 3000 pound elephant that is the glassed house Prowler the entire thread is f'ed to hell from a 32 emoticon hillbilly skank.  You're such a fat bitch.

I vote that #1bammer really is a barner, only you guys would use him to divert attention.

If the dude is out causing trouble at 1:45am during fall practice, I say bench him for at least 3 games and show him the importance of total commitment.

I keep going back and forth on shit like this no matter what school they go to.  Don't get me wrong I will make a comment when it is a kid from SPUAT but just in jest.  Thank God I was not held to the same infallible standards that all of them are held to!

That being said I want ALL of them to be punished.

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

He should transfer to Alabama, I've never met anyone that has acted disorderly at a hotel in Auburn.

Surely he was clubbed over the head with a beer bottle FIRST.  ...or, slapped around a little before he reacted.  I mean, he was only trying to save a poor puppy from crossing a busy highway.  I'm sure of this.

My $0.02.

First of all, this is far from chokeslamming your girlfriend in a parking lot. Disorderly conduct in a hotel, while completely sober and not resisting arrest doesn't sound too menacing to me. What, was his TV too loud?

That being said, EVEN STILL, I will be disappointed if Chizik gives him "behavior probation" or some bullshit like that. I would bench him for one game for a charge like this, based on what we know now. I'd like to see Chizik do something in that ballpark.

Isn't there still a club in that hotel? (It is the old Best Western) I bet that is where he was. He must have done something to get arrested and I bet he will be suspended at least one game. I do like that he was sober and didn't resist arrest.

One. In four years. In that same time you've had too many to count (somewhere in the 20's). For charges ranging from armed robbery to cocaine trafficing, to headbutting your way out of the back of a cop car when resisting arrest. The very mildest of these cases still wasn't as mild as this appears to be. None of them, besides the ones that were forced off the team due to obligations to be in prision, saw any kind of punishment.

This is on par with you and many of your bammer brethren's mentality that you guys own our ass because you won one game in the last seven, coming up on eight years.

Agree. My "T.V. too loud" comment was meant in jest.

I'm truly curious as to what exactly took place. I guess we'll know soon enough.

Yeah I knew you were joking with that comment. I really shouldn't have quoted your post...as I wasn't actually responding to anything you said. Just talking in general. Oops.
