Jay Tate bitches...
« on: August 14, 2009, 10:23:00 PM »
Jay Tate says practically the same thing I did today:

--With that said, this also has to be said: as quarterbacks, barring some miraculous comeback, both Caudle and Burns have finally, officially, landed in the "bust" file. It's not fun to call them that, but that's what they are. Both of them started fall practice with what must have been a huge head start on Todd, and they both lost that head start in just nine practices. To Chris Todd. Who, with all due respect, has the mobility of the rusted-out car on blocks in your Uncle Bobby's front yard and was last seen throwing the kinds of passes the Wounded Ducks Association of America publicly asked to be disassociated from, lest their reputations be harmed. Which tells me: Neil Caudle and Kodi Burns really just weren't/aren't particularly good quarterbacks.

I hope you all fill his inbox with frothing rants about half-empty glasses, constant bitching, and other assorted gems.

Objectivity is a bitch.  I have it.

I hope to God he has improved.  I hope he can throw the ball better. He certainly couldn't throw worth a fuck last year.  Obama had a better arm. Maybe working with a different coach improved his footwork -- because it was atrocious last year.  Quarterbacking requires precision.  A five-step drop needs to be five steps, not two stumbles, three staggers, a hop a skip and a flop.  That could be potentially coached and cured.  Maybe working with new coaches improved his hesitancy and inability to pull the trigger. He made reads, yeah.  he looked here, looked there, looked up, down, sideways, at his dick and then threw the ball at a lineman's ass.  He read too much.  He read War and Fucking Peace while he wobbled around in the pocket.

Your's was much better.

Also, although I appreciated the olive branch, I had to look.

Thanks...

Now, however, I'm not sure the quote was Tate's.  It may have come from Joe Cribbs Carwash and been incorrectly attributed.

But the sentiments are the same.

I don't even have issue with your actual opinion on this matter, and really even agree with you.

Just the way you presented it is what I had issue with.

Originally you were framing it as if the coaches had fucked up by picking Todd.

Also the fact that your position, that we have basically no talent on the field due to the previous administration not coaching them properly, is bluntly contradictory to your crusade you've been on for 3/4 of a year. That Chizik has inherited a gold mine from Tuberville, and will still screw the pooch due to his incompetance. That even an 8 win season this year will be an utter failure.

At least be consistent. If it's dark on one side of the globe, it's gotta be sunny on the other. Either Chizik has inherited a good team and a poor to mediocre performance can be blamed squarely on him, or we're severely lacking in talent so a .500 or better season is borderline miraculous. Maybe some grey area in between. But you are suggesting that our team is dismal, and even if Chizik is successful in spite of this, it means that he is a failure.

YOU CANNOT READ.

This was the last line of my original comment on the matter.   It comes from the first page of that epic thread and that post has not been edited (no edited tag).

Not Chizik or Malzhan's fault, but bad nonetheless.

What happened, Chizad is exactly what I said.  You applied your "Kaos hates Chizik" filter to my comments and went completely off the reservation.

I've never said Chizik inherited a "gold mine" but the level of vitriol spewed toward Tuberville by some is unwarranted.

Your characterization of my position on everything is off base.  But you will think what you want and I'm not going to bother explaining it point by point.
